Microsoft's Windows and Devices UX team is seeking a UX Designer to build the next generation of Windows experiences. Responsibilities include collaborating with engineering on QA, contributing to visual designs, creating wireframes and journey maps, participating in UX improvements, and communicating work effectively. The role involves working with senior team members to create compelling narratives and defining product features with cross-functional teams. The designer will also contribute to usability studies and user interviews. This role requires strong communication, collaboration skills, and a passion for creating user-centric designs that simplify complexity. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field and 1-2 years of experience.

We are looking for a designer with a keen sense of craftsmanship, exposure in user – customer centric and data informed design for scale and ability to leverage & contribute to design systems. A designer who is inclusive and can collaborate independently with key stakeholders and enrich the triad (PM, Eng., UX) partnership. Having an ability to validate solutions by creating and driving usability studies and conducting user interviews is a plus. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) in industrial design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 2+ years related work experience working in product or service design
    • OR master’s degree in industrial design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 1+ year(s) relevant internship/work experience working in product or service design
    • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems.

Responsibilities

  • You will collaborate with Engineering and perform QAs to ensure design quality. Under guidance, you’ll also contribute to visual designs by producing the visual language for a product.
  • With direction, you will create wireframes, journey maps, and other elements to support interaction design. You’ll also participate in product UX improvements by creating interaction models.
  • You will clearly communicate your work to peers and managers within your immediate team. Working alongside a senior team member, you will also create a compelling narrative for a specific product or feature.
  • You will help creative team members, program managers, and developers define product features. You’ll participate in one study at a time as you help deliver product design results.
