The VP of Marketing will be responsible for crafting and executing a marketing strategy aimed at boosting business growth and customer impact. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, championing product-led growth, and promoting a culture of innovation. Key responsibilities include creating and implementing a marketing strategy, leading and mentoring marketing teams, managing marketing operations, overseeing performance measurement, and handling the department budget. The role requires strategic leadership to align marketing objectives with organizational goals and to foster a product-led growth approach.
Must have:
  • 15+ years of marketing experience, with 8+ years in leadership.
  • Expertise in demand generation and performance marketing.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field.
  • Experience driving marketing transformations in SaaS/product-led organizations.
  • Ability to lead through change and inspire teams.
  • Proven track record in scaling organizations and driving growth.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Role:
The VP of Marketing is responsible for creating and executing a marketing strategy to enhance business growth and customer impact. As a key leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional leaders, champion product-led growth, and promote a culture of innovation. You will create a transformative vision to ensure marketing initiatives align with the needs of our customers to make Wave the number one choice. 

Here's how you will make an impact:

    • Strategic Leadership:
    • Create, implement and deliver a marketing strategy and vision that achieves Wave’s goals and the evolving needs of customers to maximize impact on business growth. 
    • Lead cross-collaboration with key stakeholders across the company to ensure marketing objectives align with organizational goals. 
    • Champion a product-led growth approach, ensuring marketing strategies integrate with product initiatives, focused on adoption, retention and conversion within our ecosystem.

    • Team Leadership:
    • Lead a high-performing and accountable Marketing Function by mentoring, coaching and enabling strong leaders across Brand & Communications, Marketing Operations, Acquisition, and Growth Marketing.
    • Build and refine operational frameworks to bring clarity, accountability, and consistent execution to marketing initiatives.
    • Empower a culture of experimentation, innovation, and agility to adapt to evolving market dynamics and challenges. 
    • Lead the marketing teams goal setting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and team planning, in collaboration with functional leadership. 

    • Marketing Operations Management:
    • Oversee marketing operations to ensure the right martech tools are in place for the company’s needs and budget and ensure they are integrated effectively. 

    • Performance Measurement:
    • Establish metrics and KPIs to track the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
    • Leverage data to improve customer acquisition, demand generation, and partner engagement. 

    • Financial Responsibility:
    • Manage department budget to ensure optimization of marketing's paid tools, resources, vendors, and agencies and maximize on ROI. 

You'll thrive here by possessing the following:

    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in marketing, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role. 
    • Demand generation and performance marketing expertise, creating and scaling multi-channel demand generation programs that efficiently acquire high volumes of customers.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration a related field or equivalent relevant experience. 
    • Demonstrated experience in driving marketing transformations in SaaS and product-led organizations. 
    • Proven ability to lead through change, setting a clear vision and strategy while inspiring teams to embrace transformation and deliver results.
    • Proven track record in scaling organizations and driving growth initiatives.
    • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills with a focus on alignment with business objectives. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a marketing function that prioritizes internal capability-building over relying heavily on agencies
    • Proficient in using data analytics, AI-driven tools, and marketing technology platforms to inform strategies, track performance, and guide decision-making.
