The Web Solutions Engineer at Google's gTech Analytics, Platforms, and Tools team will manage solutions enhancing efficiency within the Global Business Organization. Responsibilities include designing, building, deploying, and improving scalable, modern full-stack web applications using Google's software development tools. The role requires analyzing problems, developing solutions, identifying dependencies, resolving issues, and making technical contributions (writing and reviewing design documents, tests, and code in JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, and SQL). Collaboration with other engineering, product, and project management teams is essential. The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development skills, experience with various programming languages and databases, and a passion for engineering and problem-solving.
Must have:
  • 5+ years full-stack web development experience
  • Proficiency in Java, C++, Python, or similar OOP language
  • 5+ years experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and SQL
  • Design, build, deploy, and improve scalable web applications
  • Analyze problems, develop solutions, and resolve issues
Good to have:
  • Experience with unit testing, agile development, bug/change management
  • Ability to provide effective technical solutions to business challenges
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in full-stack web development.
  • 5 years of experience in Java, C++, Python, or related object oriented programming.
  • 5 years of experience in TypeScript/JavaScript front-end programming and Database/SQL.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with unit testing, agile project development, and bug and change management systems.
  • Ability to provide effective technical solutions to business challenges.
  • Ability to be flexible/adaptable in exercising judgment in a dynamic environment, and to prioritize and manage tasks.
  • Passion for engineering.

About the job

The gTech Analytics, Platforms, and Tools team maintains close relationships with the Engineering and Product partners necessary to develop and improve Google’s products and internal tools. As a Web Solutions Engineer on the Tools Development and Automation team, you'll be responsible for managing solutions that make the broader Global Business Organization more efficient. You'll help drive the development of tools and will be involved in ideating required product features and designing/implementing quick and scalable solutions. You will work with Google’s infrastructure to resolve problems over datasets.

Additionally, you’ll be working as a part of an Engineering team responsible for developing and supporting tools, prototyping proofs of concept, and writing/reviewing technical design documents to meet the needs of the services teams. You will adhere to Google’s software development practices and work in partnership with other Project/Product Management and Engineering teams.
