The Associate Content Director at TiMi Montreal will be responsible for designing and quality controlling regions and levels in an open-world game developed using Unreal Engine 5. Responsibilities include designing gameplay prototypes and 3D layouts, collaborating with team members to create immersive environments, proposing creative ideas, assisting the project manager with development plans, and incorporating user feedback. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of game design experience with level design on at least three released games and a deep understanding of open-world game design methodologies.

About the Hiring Team

TiMi Montreal is a new AAA development team making an innovative open world role-playing game in Unreal Engine 5 that is part of the award-winning TiMi Studio Group and Tencent. The studio’s core team has a proven track record making hit open world games, including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Watch Dogs. This is an ambitious team who aspires to be a flagship first-party studio for TiMi, reaching global audiences of passionate gamers who appreciate the studio’s optimistic and inclusive culture that rewards disruptive, risk-taking game development.

Interactive Entertainment Group (IEG) is responsible for the R&D, operation, and development of the company's interactive entertainment business including games and eSports. Through online gaming, live broadcasts, and offline eSports, IEG assists the company in leading the global interactive entertainment market to create better interactive entertainment content experiences for users.

  • Responsible for the design and final quality control of regions and levels in an open-world game.

  • Design gameplay prototypes and 3D layouts, establishing directions for subsequent development.

  • Collaborate closely with team members to create immersive, thematic, and convincing open-world regions and levels.

  • Propose and contribute creative ideas related to open-world design.

  • Assist the project manager in developing plans and milestones for development and ensure deliverables meet expectations.

  • Follow up on user research and player feedback to develop optimization and iteration plans.

Who We Look For

  • 8+ years of game design experience, with responsibility for level design on at least three released games.

  • Familiarity with environmental storytelling and the ability to apply relevant theories to design; proficient in using Unreal Engine (UE) to create level blockouts.

  • Deep understanding of open-world games, including their characteristics and design methodologies.

  • Strong communication skills, team collaboration abilities, creativity, and resilience under pressure.

  • Passionate about gaming with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
