The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Creative Director to join our award-winning international team and play a pivotal role in a newly formed creative leadership team. Reporting to a Group Creative Director, you’ll take responsibility to lead, direct, and inspire a talented team to create stand-out, exciting, big ideas and campaigns that drive attention for our telco client across the worlds of sport and entertainment. Having keen knowledge of the production landscape, you’ll work closely with our experiential/live-event production team and will roll-up your sleeves at all our events to get the job done.
As the Creative Director, Experiential, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, strategizing, and executing exceptional, innovative, and immersive experiences that captivate audiences, enhance brand awareness, and create lasting memories for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of consumer behavior, trends, and a proven track record of translating brand objectives into immersive and shareable experiences. This person will have a proven award-winning portfolio and experience in integrated marketing, live-event /experiential production, and brand activation with a primary focus in creative strategy, concept, and design across sports and entertainment, who thinks big and has a track record of bringing those ideas to life. This Creative Director will play an instrumental role in conceiving, articulating, and selling creative concepts, designing experiences, and delivering design requirements for Brand Consulting’s telecom client.
Responsibilities
  • Lead by example, shaping and directing creative campaigns, experiential, and brand activations - determining how our clients’ brand shows up across their sports and entertainment partnerships through collaborating with cross-functional teams, including marketing, events, and production, to ensure cohesive and integrated campaigns. Build and lead BIG ideas and creative campaigns across the sports and entertainment landscape.
  • Develop strategic-based creative concepts that align with client objectives, brand identity, and industry trends, into well-rounded integrated campaigns, activations, and live events all the way through to the delivery of assets.
  • Inspire, guide, and nurture a team of ambitious and dynamic creatives, art directors, copywriters, designers, and experiential specialists to bring their A-game each and every day.
  • Work alongside teams to build out the very best-in-class creative solutions, visuals, and environments for our client under the support and guidance of our Group Creative Director team. Work collaboratively with other Creative Directors, Art Directors, Designers, Artworkers, and other creative specialists across all global regions where needed.
  • Lead, develop and deliver an overarching strategic vision based on the client’s business and brand objectives by conceptualizing, strategizing, and executing innovative and immersive experiences that captivate audiences, enhance brand awareness and create lasting memories for our clients.
  • Offer creative counsel to accounts teams and clients alike. Lead and inspire others to think creatively and build ideas within integrated creative teams. Lead and participate in idea workshops with clients and internal teams.
  • Craft creative solutions into compelling presentations that take clients through your thought process in a way that is simple to understand and leaves them hanging on every experience.
  • Re-imaging immersive experiences, and re-defining fan journeys, and a passion for applying cutting-edge technology to deliver memorable, impactful, and measurable results for our partners.
  • Leverage consumer insights and market research to inform creative strategies and work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand marketing objectives and develop strategic plans for experiential activations
Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience in the Creative space
  • Proven 5+ years of experience as a Creative Director or in a similar creative leadership role, with a focus on experiential marketing or activation.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing successful experiential campaigns and activations — demonstrating your creativity across numerous channels.
  • In-depth understanding of current trends in experiential marketing and consumer behavior.
  • Ability to provide overarching creative direction, concepts, and design with technical execution capabilities within targeted scope, scale, and schedule.
  • Exceptional creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
  • Understanding and working experience in partnership marketing - translating brand stories into engaging and memorable experiences that resonate with target audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Passion for sports, entertainment, live events, youth, and pop culture.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with a proactive can-do attitude

  • Impressive ability to immerse within the brand to develop a knowledge base of category differences, including sport/entertainment vernacular and specific terminology for the variety of athletes, entertainers, and audiences.
  • A professional, detail-oriented individual with strong graphic design, environmental design, and marketing ability for multiple channels in support of our client’s sports/entertainment categories and business units
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects, ensuring deliverables are achieved on time while maintaining the highest standards of quality and creativity.
  • Expert design craft, technical awareness, and hands-on execution capabilities across, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe CC, and Microsoft software packages. Unreal Engine capabilities are a plus.

  • Have a keen eye for detail and command a rigorous quality control process
  • Have good commercial awareness, ensuring that the creative vision is relevant and achievable throughout all processes of project delivery.
  • Finger on the pulse and have up-to-date knowledge of social, pop-cultural, and industry trends - tapped into both sports and entertainment cultural zeitgeists.
  • Understand, utilize, teach, and champion innovative processes and tools that facilitate and elevate effective creative development.
  • Creative curiosity, a sense of discovery, and a drive to re-imagine how AI can positively elevate the creative process.

Location
Based out of the New York offices. This role is onsite/in office Tuesday thru Thursday and remote Monday and Friday.
Compensation
The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $158,000- $230,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
