Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to our hubs in San Francisco and Austin, which is now home to our US operations. We offer flexibility in how and where you work. We trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

You will be a hands-on leader, managing a team and overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, ensuring compliance, financial transparency, and accuracy in all aspects of our financial reporting. You and the rest of the finance leadership team will work with the CFO to ensure our team and support of Canva can scale and provide excellence.

  • Treasury & Cash Management: Oversee the treasury function, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and the establishment of appropriate banking relationships. Implement and maintain effective cash management and banking policies and systems to facilitate smooth financial operations.
  • Payroll Management: Supervise and manage the global payroll function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee compensation. Oversee payroll compliance, including tax filings and reporting for all jurisdictions.
  • Sales Compensation: Partner closely with Sales Operations to build a sales compensation team within finance to support our enterprise sales organization.
  • Procurement Management: Oversee the company’s Global Spend team, ensuring that purchasing activities are conducted in a cost-effective, efficient, and compliant manner.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and continue to develop our high-performing team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team. Build and implement efficient processes and systems to support company growth.

You’re probably a match if you have:

  • Significant experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and internal audit practices.
  • Experience working with both private and large-scale public companies

  • Strong understanding of treasury management, payroll processing, procurement, AP and expense reimbursement, and financial operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, procurement systems, and Excel.
