About the job:
The Cloud Supply Chain Operations (CSCO) Data Science team is looking for a Data Scientist to help improve efficiency through applied machine learning, statistical and simulation modeling as well as prescriptive insights. You will focus on projects that increase user satisfaction, elevate measurement capabilities, and improve key business metrics. Responsibilities include conducting exploratory data analyses, informing model design and development, analyzing users, usage, trends and relevant dimensions, prioritizing projects, planning and executing project work, identifying and recommending ways to improve solutions, identifying and escalating issues, communicating insights, and recommending actions to stakeholders. You will also be responsible for data extraction and manipulation, visualization, and development of investigative/statistical models.
Must have:
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
  • 5 years of experience with statistical data analysis, data mining, and querying.
  • 3 years of experience with data science and analytics in a technology or supply chain company.
  • Knowledge of measurement, statistics and program evaluation.
  • Understanding of statistical foundation especially in approaches and methods related to hypothesis testing, experimentation, and causal inference.
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or Operations Research
  • Experience influencing and leading organizational change.
  • Ability to synthesize multiple data points, points of view and analyses into actionable and meaningful insights.
  • Excellent business acumen and problem-solving skills.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with statistical data analysis, data mining, and querying (e.g., SQL).
  • 3 years of experience with data science and analytics in a technology or supply chain company.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct exploratory data analyses, inform model design, and development.
  • Analyze users, usage, trends and relevant dimensions, providing insights on changing dynamics. Prioritize multiple projects and refine timelines with stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute prioritized project work, including selecting appropriate methods and advising on opportunities to improve data infrastructure. Identify and recommend ways to improve solutions to problems via selecting better methods/tools.
  • Identify issues with scope, data, or approach. Escalate issues to be addressed by stakeholders and communicate, present insights, and recommend actions to stakeholders.
  • Deliver data extraction and manipulation, visualization, and development of investigative/statistical models.
