Do you have the passion for true DevOps by bringing highly automated, scalable and reusable solutions to live on both on-prem and cloud?
Are you able to take a central role in the full development lifecycle of your team, providing input on application architecture/design, industry best practices by challenging the status quo and living continuous improvement culture?

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Java/DevOps Engineer in Financial Messaging to:

Help us build state of the art solutions using modern technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Azure, IBM MQ/Kafka, PostgreSQL /Oracle, Kubernetes, Apigee in a demanding environment

Enhance and maintain existing Java on-prem applications as well as support our journey to cloud

Work with the team on adoption of best-in-class design and development practices and standards

drive application and infrastructure observability topics such as monitoring and alerting

work on further automating all aspects of the software delivery lifecycle build, test, evidence, deploy, operate and monitor

Provide application support and carry out issue and incident analysis and resolution in both test and production systems

Work on project maintenance, technical debt reduction and technology/security remediation topics

Skills

Must have

ideally 4+ years Java engineering experience using Java 8 or later in data intense environment

solid understanding in networking, web technologies and application security, including API-first mindset, REST and SOAP, API gateways/proxies, load balancing, web security, X509, OAuth

system thinking with the ability to understand and work in a complex application landscape

experience with Cloud Architecture on Azure, application containerization

strong technical skills with:

Spring and Spring Boot

REST API implementation and design (OpenAPI / Swagger, Apigee)

IBM MQ and Kafka (Spring JMS)

CI/CD, Docker, Ansible, GitLab / Git, Maven build management

relational databases such as Oracle/PostgreSQL and Liquibase

Azure Cloud services (especially AKS, WebApp, Postgres, AKV, Vnet)

attention to details and the ability to maintain focus in a challenging diverse solution landscape

good Linux skills (preferably RedHat, RPM experience is a plus, bash/python)

hands on experience with event driven architecture is a plus

experience in working transparently in an agile environment, share and cooperate as a team

Nice to have

Banking / Investment Banking domain experience

knowledge about Financial Messaging (SWIFT Fin, ISO 20022 etc.)
