Job Description

Design, develop, and maintain control systems for electrical drives in commercial applications. Implement advanced control strategies, integrate hardware and software, and ensure system performance and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. Design control algorithms (motor control, position control, torque control), develop system architecture, select and integrate components, perform simulations (MATLAB/Simulink), conduct HIL/SIL testing, troubleshoot and debug systems, prepare technical documentation, and ensure compliance with standards and regulations. Analyze system performance and identify optimization opportunities. Stay updated on advancements in drive and control technologies.
Must have:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in drive and control system engineering
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python
  • Deep understanding of control systems (PID, state-space, advanced methods)
  • Strong knowledge of electric drive systems (servo motors)
  • Familiarity with power electronics and real-time control

Job Description

Position Summary, Responsibilities and Expectations:

You are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for electrical drives used in commercial applications. This role involves implementing advanced control strategies, integrating hardware and software components, and ensuring the performance and reliability of drive systems. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and efficient solutions that meet project specifications.

  • Design control algorithms for electrical drive systems (e.g., motor control, position control, torque control).
  • Develop system architecture for drive and control components, including motor controllers, power electronics, and communication interfaces.
  • Select and integrate sensors, actuators, and feedback mechanisms into the control systems.
  • Perform simulations and modeling of drive control systems using MATLAB/Simulink 
  • Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing to validate control strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and debug drive systems during development and deployment.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Analyze system performance and identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
  • Stay updated on advancements in drive and control technologies, and propose the adoption of new solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues in real-time systems.
  • Work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in drive and control system engineering or related roles.
  • Experience with coding in languages such as C/C++, Python
  • Deep understanding of control systems, including PID controllers, state-space control, and advanced control methods.
  • Strong knowledge of electric drive systems such as servo motors
  • Familiarity with power electronics, signal processing, and real-time control implementations.
  • Ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions for drive and control challenges.
