Job Description

Canadian Helicopters is seeking an experienced Captain for their SK76 aircraft to support Air Ambulance Operations in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Responsibilities include acting as Captain according to company standards, performing IFR flights in challenging environments, coordinating effectively with crew and dispatch, and fulfilling duties assigned by the Chief Pilot or Base Manager. A transition period from First Officer to Captain may be required. The company is Canada's largest helicopter operator, established in 1947, with a substantial fleet and numerous locations.
Must have:
  • Valid Transport Canada ATPL(H) License
  • Valid Canadian Passport or work authorization for Canada and USA
  • Minimum 2000 hours rotary wing flight time
  • Minimum 500 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Instrument Flight Operations
  • Valid Class 1 Medical
  • Customer focused and team player
  • Good communication skills and positive attitude
  • Mandatory immunization records
Good to have:
  • 200 hours Multi-Engine Aircraft PIC
  • NVG experience
  • Ability to complete Controlled Goods Security Assessment
  • S76 endorsement
  • Previous 703 Air Ambulance Captain experience
  • Experience flying in Eastern Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Captain as per Company operation standards;
  • Perform IFR Flights in challenging and rapidly changing environment;
  • Be able to work closely with our customer, respond efficiently to aircraft tasking, while maintaining a high level of safety;
  • Coordination and effective communication between crew and dispatch
  • All duties assigned by the Chief Pilot or Base Manager;
  • Transition period from First Officer to Captain role might be required.

Qualifications

  • A Valid and Unrestricted Transport Canada ATPL(H) License;
  • A Valid Canadian Passport or A Valid Authorization to work in Canada and to travel to USA, (this position is not available for sponsorship);
  • A Minimum of 2000 hours rotary wing flight time;
  • A Minimum of 500 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) which 200 hours of Multi-Engine Aircraft;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Instrument Flight Operations with actual IFR flight hours as PIC;
  • Valid Class 1 Medical;
  • NVG experience an asset;
  • Ability to successfully complete the Controlled Goods Security Assessment application for NVG purposes;
  • Endorsement on S76 considered an asset;
  • Previous experience flying in a 703 Air Ambulance operation as a Captain is preferred;
  • Experience flying in Eastern Canada is considered an asset
  • Be customer focused and a team player;
  • Have good communication skills and a positive attitude;
  • Immunization records with required vaccinations is mandatory.

Remuneration: Competitive salary according to experience.

Schedule: Shifts schedule, 2 days on, 2 nights on, 4 days off
