Game Developer III

Are you an avid gamer interested in creating awesome games? PAPL is building a new Game Development Studio and is seeking a talented Game Developer to drive the development of a new cross-platform 3D Action-Adventure title. This is a great opportunity to be part of the initial core team that builds the franchise from the early stages. The ideal candidate is well-versed in Unreal Engine 4/5 and has shipped titles in the past or has an equivalent portfolio indicative of the experience required. This is a salaried, full-time position at our Chennai office, and relocation assistance will be provided.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the design team to conceptualize and implement features and mechanics.
• Work closely with artists to ensure assets are properly integrated into the game.
• Develop and maintain systems using Unreal Engine and Blueprints.
• Optimize game performance and memory usage for various platforms.· Troubleshoot and debug technical

issues to ensure smooth game play experience.

• Keep up to date with technological trends related to Unreal Engine and in general game development.
• Decent knowledge of 3D math concepts to create game play mechanics and dabble with shaders. Learn new

technologies quickly and execute on a schedule in a fast-paced cross-disciplined team environment. Good

estimation of effort is critical.

• Work closely with QA to address bugs.
• Prepare games for release/distribution on various platforms.
• Have great pride of ownership. Demonstrate keen attention to detail.
• Be a team player. Should be available to collaborate across international time zones.

Education and/or Experience Desired:

• 5+ years of experience in professional game development.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or relevant diploma.
• Proficiency in C++ and Object-Oriented concepts.
• Strong experience with Unreal Engine 4/5.
• Mobile publishing (iOS/Android) experience is a great plus.
• Having worked on cross-platform projects is a plus.
• Experience in several of the following a plus: Character movement, ABP, Sequences, Motion Matching, Control

Rig, IK, Profiling, UI/UX, AI, physics, data management, graphics, gameplay, audio, shader pipelines, and

landscape.

• Experienced with version control software (e.g., Perforce, Git).
• Knowledge of 3D modeling, animation and asset pipelines.
• Good communication in English is a must.
