Previous blockchain experience, while desirable, is not required and so this is an excellent opportunity for anybody who has an interest in growing their skills and experience in this novel and fast-moving field.


Your mission

We are looking for a Head of Information Security to lead our Cyber and Engineering Security team and be responsible for overseeing the security of our products and services. You will also lead the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of security solutions, as well as managing security incidents and vulnerabilities.

As a Head of Information Security, you will have strong technical skills and experience in Cyber and/or Engineering security, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. You will be able to mentor and coach your team members, foster a culture of trust and collaboration and interact with other teams and stakeholders across the organisation.

Further to this, you will be responsible for contributing to the company security strategy, as well as developing and implementing security policies and procedures. You will also work closely with product delivery teams to embed security into the culture and ways of working.

What you'll do

  • Manage hiring, retention and career development of the Cyber and Engineering Security team ensuring a consistently high-performing well-balanced talent pool is maintained. This includes managing performance, setting goals, and providing career development opportunities.
  • Define and execute the company security strategy and roadmap. This includes managing scheduling and resource allocation, ensuring alignment to business priorities and technology strategy.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to product delivery teams on security architecture, design, development, testing and deployment of security solutions
  • Establish and enforce security standards, policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Lead the implementation and facilitation of a security training and awareness programme for all company employees.
  • Lead the Cyber and Engineering Security team team to monitor and analyse the security posture of internal products and services, and identify and remediate any security risks or issues
  • Work alongside Customer Service Desk and Software Engineers to lead and coordinate the response to security incidents and vulnerabilities, conduct root cause analysis and lessons learned
  • Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, customers and delivery team on security matters
  • Stay abreast of the latest security trends, threats and technologies, and continuously improve the team's skills and capabilities
  • Coach and mentor employees through example, advice and correction; help them to expand their capacity and the capacity of their teams.

What you'll bring

  • Experience in security engineering, preferably in a software development environment
  • Experience in managing or leading a team of security engineers or similar roles. Including a proven track record of delivering results through effective people management, mentorship and strategic guidance.
  • Deep knowledge of security principles, frameworks, standards and industry best practice, such as OWASP, NIST etc.
  • Familiarity with security assessments, audits, penetration testing and vulnerability management
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment, taking multiple initiatives forward at the same time
  • Experience in developing secure code and implementing secure development lifecycle (SDLC) processes
  • Experience in the implementation and management of a security awareness programme
  • Experience in handling security incidents and breaches, and performing incident response and forensics
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Full English proficiency, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
