Job Description

PwC seeks an Associate to contribute to its Climate & Sustainability Strategy Advisory team in Gurugram. Responsibilities include assisting in ESG data analysis, identifying sustainability improvement opportunities for clients, preparing reports and presentations, engaging with clients to achieve their sustainability goals, and staying updated on sustainability standards and frameworks. The role demands strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, familiarity with reporting frameworks (GRI, DJSI, CDP, TCFD, SASB, SDGs), and a commitment to sustainability. The ideal candidate possesses a consulting background, prior experience in sustainability/ESG, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities:  

As an Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to: 

Sector Specific Skills:  

  • Assist in the collection and analysis of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data. 
  • Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for improvement in clients' sustainability performance 
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and proposals related to sustainability initiatives. 
  • Engage with clients to understand their sustainability goals and provide support in achieving them. 
  • Stay updated on emerging sustainability standards, ESG-sustainability certifications, and frameworks. 

Mandatory skill sets:  

  • Consulting background 
  • Previous experience or coursework in sustainability, ESG, or related areas is preferred. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI, DJSI, CDP, TCFD, SASB, SDGs. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. 
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings or project-related activities. 

Preferred skill sets: 

  • Use feedback and reflection to develop self -awareness, personal strengths and address development areas. 
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems. 
  • Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends. 

<candidate has to have strengths in one of the sectoral and one of the functional skill-set, anything additional in above areas i.e. more than

2 strength areas would be preferential>
