About Us

VeVe is where the world collects. It is the world’s home of premium digital collectibles, comics and art works - all available in limited edition releases. We are made up of a diverse range of global individuals who are all collectors at heart, dream big but stay grounded.

About the Team

We are currently hiring for two teams, so depending on your skillset and where you may fit best, you could be joining a team taking ownership of a core product area responsible for customer loyalty, or a team that is responsible for our collectibles storefront. In addition to working with a product manager, product designer and engineers in the team, you will also be collaborating with other Lead Engineers across the business to impact architectural and engineering improvements and lifting the overall quality of our engineering practice.

About the Role

The Lead Engineer will report into an Engineering Manager and is expected to be hands on without any direct reports.

As a Lead Engineer at VeVe we are looking for you to have an impact across three key areas:

Engineering Practice

You will be the advocate in your team for uplifting the Engineering Practice, ranging from code quality, delivery optimisation, team ownership of key engineering health metrics, and more. In addition to the delivery of new work, you will be a driver of operational excellence, helping the team to take responsibility for incident management and root-cause remediation.

Technical Strategy

You will be a key player working with other technical leaders across teams and the business to both provide insight and opportunities for technical improvement that impact multiple teams across the business, as well as helping to translate the organisational technical vision into a coherent strategy for your team.

People & Teams

As an experienced software engineer, you will be a core part of defining team culture and behaviour, by setting a standard for others to live up to. You will bring your experience into mentoring and coaching your team members on growth opportunities, providing feedback as part of working with people every day.

About You

We want to work with great people who care about what they do. While it’s important that you have experience as a software engineer for this role, we recognise that your ability to think and act as a software engineering leader is more important than the specific tech stack you’ve used in the last 12 months.

You will have:

  • Proven skills in motivating, coaching and mentoring teams.
  • Strong technical skills with a focus on high-quality code and solution design.
  • Ability to drive technical strategy and align with product goals.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in incident management and cost efficiency improvement.

Working Remotely

While we are a fully remote company and believe in having asynchronous working foundations, we aim for people and teams to have a key 4 hour window of time zone overlap. We currently have team members extending from UTC+5 → UTC+12, which means our core overlap time zone is UTC+8. If you currently live outside these time zones but are relocating soon, or will be able to work in these times, please let us know when you apply.

We would love to have a chat to get to know you and understand how you can apply your diverse experience to VeVe.
