The annual base salary for this position ranges from $97,200.00 in our lowest geographic market to $217,700.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

Based in New York, as the Music Manager you will be part of the Global Entertainment and Celebrity Partnerships team. This team is responsible for the management of the relationships with entertainers, stylists, models, streamers, trendsetters and style leaders and will be accountable for:
  • Humanizing our brand through relationships with cultural leaders to keep Nike at the center of popular culture conversations and energize the business and brand
  • Providing outstanding service and brand management for these external relationships
  • Providing thoughtful insights to our cross functional partners to ensure that we integrate our relationships into the brand plans in authentic, meaningful and impactful ways
  • Driving Nike's ground game (alongside our cross functional partners in the Energy Marketing function) to ensure we have constant, meaningful traction within the most influential communities within our most important cities

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced and talented relationship manager with immense passion for the music industry, lifestyle and culture. You are brand guardians who are curious, connected, active participants in various subculture communities. You see unique opportunities to take risks, expand perception, celebrate brand values, accelerate the business and advance the notion of sport culture through thought provoking intersections with cultural leaders.

A relationship manager who is deliberate in strategically pushing boundaries, to incubate, test and build new space for Nike and sport, when others may not see the opportunity. You will contribute to the start of the chain reaction culturally.

What will you work on?

The shape of your day-to-day work will vary significantly, and therefore your style and influence will have to adapt accordingly. You must be consistently collaborative and open to the opinions and expertise of those you engage with.

In this role your core duties will include:
  • Drive and maintain a powerful network and portfolio of leaders in the music industry, to keep Nike relevant in popular culture and to energize the brand
  • Provide outstanding service and brand management for these relationships
  • Be able to identify new and innovative opportunities for NIKE within the music industry
  • Expand Nike's reach, presence and visibility with artists within the Music Industry
  • Oversee all aspects of these relationships and their projects end to end, including serving as the primary point of contact for all communications
  • Gather structured and continuous insights from the talent to allow us to better serve the enterprise needs, and input into strategic planning, marketing plans and overall management of the project. This includes gathering insights from the talent related to their product preferences to inform our seeding approach
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in talent partnerships
  • Serve as the liaison between the external partner and Nike stakeholders for all day-to-day matters
  • Communicate with internal partners for all questions, needs, concerns and requests of external partner - balance and assess asks/needs in conjunction with overall strategy, business objectives and project scope
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution into our brand campaigns and any talent-generated content deliverables. Align with cross functional partners on all critical dates and gates. Stay on top of these dates and deliverables and ensure partners are complying in a timely manner
  • Actively keep a pulse on emerging talent and trends through various social media channels such as Instagram, TikTok
  • Where product creation is included in the partnership plan, stay in lock step with product teams to ensure all projects are tracking on time, gather feedback and approvals when needed, work with merch/marketplace teams on product orders, and seasonal forecasts and buys
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the brand's voice and messaging to ensure that our talent and any content they create aligns with our brand guidelines and values.


Who will you work with?

You will be part of Global Entertainment and Celebrity Partnerships function, reporting directly to the Director of Entertainment, also based in New York, and ultimately reporting into a Global Center of Excellence. In this role you will work with the Energy and City teams, always with a growth mindset to contribute towards a World-class team.

You will work cross functionally, particularly with the Brand Management and Sports Marketing functions, aligning on roles & responsibilities, to bring your relationships and the brand management plans to life.

And you will of course build very strong external relationships with key cultural leaders in the music space in North America.

What you bring to Nike?

A successful candidate will be expected to clearly demonstrate and articulate experience of the below essential requirements in order to be considered. Candidates that meet these criteria will then be assessed based on the competencies also outlined below.

Essential requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in seeking, servicing and leveraging external cultural relationships.
  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Marketing or related field; or equivalent combination of education, experience or training.
  • Proven connections with influential Cultural and Thought leaders in Music in North America.

  • Essential to have experience in identifying and building powerful long-term relationships, which delivers success for both the talent the business.
  • Prior experience in category, brand or account management, able to define and understand the full spectrum of youth culture and a desire to better connect with them through your relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of entertainment, style leaders/trendsetters and pop culture.
  • Passion & love for the Nike brand.
  • Strong inter-personal, communication and organizational skills required.
  • Passion for building and maintaining relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams.

Functional Competencies:
  • External Partnership Management - Proven track record of managing, servicing and leveraging high profile Cultural Influencer relationships which delivers success to both parties.
  • Brand Management - Timely and effective brand plans for partners to ensure optimum service and maximum leverage.
  • Cultural Acumen - Strong experience, understanding and ability to navigate the cultural landscape, translating that into breakthrough Cultural Influencer x Nike intersections.
  • Connected to Youth Culture- Deep understanding and experience with the leaders of youth culture.
