Job Description

As a Monitoring Specialist at Nielsen, you'll ensure the seamless ingestion of video data from broadcasters globally. This involves monitoring a vast system (1000+ TV channels), providing first-level tech support (on-site in Cologne and remotely), and addressing interruptions. You'll monitor approximately 8.5 million hours of footage annually and contribute to OTT/streaming capture projects. The role requires flexible working hours (8-10 hours/week, max 40 hours/month) and collaboration with various teams and international partners.

Aim of the position: Make sure our video data ingestion servers receive and record all incoming data (picture and voice) from the broadcasters we are monitoring, ensure interruptions are flagged, actioned on and eliminated.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Monitoring of the global TV recording system (1.000 TV channels)
1st level tech support Monday to Friday, weekends and bank holidays for the global TV recording system
On-site 1st level tech support for the main TV recording hub in Cologne (approx. 450 TV channels)
Output of the monitored system is approx. 8.5M hours of footage per year
Monitoring and implementing of OTT/Streaming capture projects
Shift: Flexible working hours ( 8-10 hours per week - not more than 40 hours/ month )
