We are currently looking for a native French inhouse translator and editor to work full-time for our office in Berlin, Germany. The successful candidate will be in charge of providing translations, bilingual editing, and proofreading texts for video game titles while respecting production schedules and quality expectations. The candidate will be working alongside an in-house team of translators and project managers on various projects for all platforms, including titles from very prestigious clients.

 
YOUR ROLE
  
  • Translating, editing, and proofreading video-game related content, includes in-game content, marketing material, etc.
  • Updating linguistic assets (glossary, guides, termbases, etc.) and assisting with feedback to external translators and editors.
  • Assisting partners as language or translation lead on projects.
  • Improving and ensuring the overall quality of translations.
  • Assist to discover and onboard talented translators in the industry.
  • Controlling quality and compliance with guidelines and reference material.
  • Training other team members on processes and cultural aspects.
  • Providing input and feedback for continuous improvement of processes within the company and for the company.
Your profile
  • Proven and professional experience in localization and translation with at least 1 year experience working on game translation and localization from English into French.
  • Native fluency in the target language French, spoken and written.
  • High level of fluency in source language English, spoken and written.
  • Strong understanding of cultural differences and nuances between English source locale and French locale.
  • Detailed-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Experience with CAT tools (MemoQ, CTE, TMS).
  • Ability to communicate accurately and professionally.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher-education degree in Translation, Linguistics, or related field.
  • Translation certifications.
  • Previous experience working as an inhouse translator and editor.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
  • LQA and/or audiovisual translation experience.
  • Avid gamers always welcomed.
