Fluence is seeking a India Operations Safety Manager to be a critical contributor to the success of the implementation of our corporate health and safety policies and programs as part of the Transformation, Quality and Safety Department reporting up through our Business Operations and Transformation and Global Innovation Centre (GIC) Organizations, by providing health, safety and environmental (HSE) subject matter expertise for the Corporate Safety and GIC Teams. This position is hands-on in HSE management to ensure compliance for our regionally for India and Asia and Pacific (APAC) operations.
In this position the successful candidate applies developed subject matter expertise to solve unique and moderately complex HSE implementation issues within established processes and recommends appropriate solutions or alternative methods ensuring compliance. Acts as an India/APAC Safety team member, providing HSE oversight on operational activities, along with facilitating HSE decision making in support of stakeholders. Does not require day-to-day supervision and has the ability to resolve most issues but may seek advice in order to make more complex decisions. Must be able to travel as may be required and work remotely.This team member will be assisting Corporate Safety Operations for the Global Innovation Centre (GIC), along with Product Manufacturing, Project Delivery & Services and India Test Lab management with various tasks and responsibilities, such as:
· Responsible for developing and maintaining occupational HSE policy and programs for Corporate Safety Operations, GIC and associated regional stakeholders to drive initiatives toward a more global and equitable safety culture within the businesses and APAC region in general.
· Acts as a technical advisor to the GIC and India test lab, projects/services sites and APAC regional manufacturing locations.
· Assists in maintaining and conducting integrity checks on the Fluence online HSE database (Salesforce & Learning Mgt System), for safety walks, inspections, stop work authority, incidents/events, training courses, etc.), and performs trend analysis on the various safety metrics reported.
· Develop and/or assist with global/regional HSE policy, programs and technical documents as required to ensure compliance with Fluence policy, local, state, and federal regulations.
· Assist and/or develop training curriculum and conduct training sessions to educate employees on the safe and compliant work practices associated with work activities.
· Lead and/or participate in GIC and regional site related HSE operations including inspections and audits as required.
· Conducts safety walks when at GIC office, test lab, and regional project and manufacturing sites and other business locations.
· Leads, coordinates, and participates in RCA investigations of incidents, maintain records of pertinent data, make recommendations for corrective actions and compile required analysis reports on such investigations.
· Assist and participate with corporate internal and external ISO 45001, 14001, 9001 and SA8000 certification and recertification audits.
· Represent GIC on the Safety & Social Performance Team Committee and participate in monthly meetings.
· Participate in the Global All Hands Monthly Safety meeting, develop and present safety information and will conduct separate all-hands safety meetings for GIC.
· Work on managing and closing out HSE related corrective actions and preventative actions (CAPA’s).
· Work with the LMS to deliver GIC and APAC regional focused training.
· Assisting on a corporate enterprise level with various tasks as assigned.

· Proficient with computer based HSE Management platforms and other applications i.e., Microsoft 360, word, excel and power point.
· Strong compliance knowledge in high-risk activities: working at height, lifting & rigging, electrical safety, lockout/tagout, arc flash hazard analysis, hazardous materials, and other areas including risk assessment, work permitting, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, and general safe work practices.

What should an interested candidate bring to Fluence? The minimum job qualification requirements include the following:
· Ten plus years work experience in an operational, industrial, or manufacturing establishment with HSE management responsibilities.
· A degree in occupational safety or equivalent fields, e.g., engineering discipline or business management.
o Having a recognized safety certification, e.g. NEBOSH Level 3> or equivalent will be considered a strong plus.
· A proven track record of sustained implementation and overall management responsibility of regulations under the Ministry of Labour and Skills and associated Department of Factories & Boilers, or other APAC regional general industry regulations and related standards/program compliance, that achieved a demonstrated record of solid health and safety performance in past positions.
· Regional and/or global HSE management oversight experience considered a plus.
· Must be able to travel as required for global/regional business (passport required), approximately 25 to 35 percent annually.
