Over 40 million people have already joined the world of Highrise, and it's growing faster every day. Through Highrise, we are connecting the world through shared community created experiences and realizing the positive potential of the internet.

About the Role:

As a Trust and Safety Team Manager at Pocket Worlds, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our platform remains a safe and welcoming environment for all players. You will lead and develop our Trust & Safety team, implement strategic initiatives to address negative behaviors and collaborate with various teams to create a positive community experience. Your work will directly impact the well-being and enjoyment of millions of Highrise and Everskies citizens. As a social-first gaming company, we pride ourselves on building vibrant and authentic communities, and your efforts will help keep Highrise and Everskies safe and welcoming for all players.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop our Trust & Safety team.

  • Put together a long-term vision, roadmap, and standard operating procedures to prevent and deal with bad actors on Highrise and Everskies.

  • Work closely with product, engineering and alongside our community to develop tools as well as safety and privacy features to tackle bad behaviors (including bullying, harassment, hate speech, or minor safety) as they arise.

  • Coordinate Trust & Safety activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.

  • Develop and maintain KPIs to monitor the impact our safety features have on reducing bad actors.

  • Lead strategic initiatives that result in a safe, friendly community for all of our players

  • Develop policies and processes to ensure we continuously improve as we grow. This includes working closely with our moderation vendors to improve and evolve our tooling.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in Trust and Safety or related fields, such as high-volume customer care support or content moderation. You should have substantial knowledge of trust and safety practices, including an understanding of the unique challenges and requirements involved in maintaining safe online environments.

  • Proven experience in leading a team, ideally in a remote work environment. You should be able to inspire and mentor your team, ensuring high performance and professional growth, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.

  • Expertise in drafting and implementing online community guidelines and Trust & Safety policies. You should be adept at creating clear, effective policies that promote positive behavior and deter negative actions, while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. You should be able to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely, both within the team and to the broader community, and effectively handle sensitive situations with empathy and tact.

  • High emotional intelligence, creative problem-solving skills, and keen attention to detail. You should be able to analyze situations from multiple perspectives, identify root causes, and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a proactive, resourceful attitude. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and able to quickly adjust to changing circumstances while maintaining focus on long-term goals and objectives.

  • Bonus points for familiarity with relevant legal regulations, including privacy laws such as GDPR. A good understanding of the legal landscape will help you navigate compliance requirements and protect the company and its users from legal risks.

Why work with us:

  • Impact: Your work will directly affect millions of users around the world.

  • Growth: Your growth isn’t capped by a career ladder. Show us you can deliver the impact, and we’ll respond with recognition and reward.

  • Elite team: You’ll be a member of a small and elite team with a lot of freedom to go after opportunities you identify.

  • Office and team: Directly work with the cofounders in our office in Downtown Austin.

Benefits (US Only):
