What Are We Looking For?

Contentstack is seeking a Principal Designer to lead our multidisciplinary group of designers, establishing the many touchpoints our customers interact with across our marketing channels and product. As the ultimate Brand Steward for Contentstack, your role will be essential in maintaining and evolving the brand guidelines and establishing a systematic design approach to our creative needs.

You will work closely with a skilled team of designers and collaborate directly with product marketing managers and other content requestors across the organization to bring the next generation of brand creativity to our diverse, global audience. Our ideal candidate is passionate about the active role design plays in successful brand development and understands how it evolves sustainably into the future. You will play a crucial role in managing, art-directing, and creating visually compelling and effective marketing materials that serve company-wide needs under a single brand umbrella. Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Design and maintain the production of brand design systems and core visual design language for the Contentstack brand.
  • Work closely with producers, managers, and digital design teams to ensure accuracy and quality of design delivery across projects, campaigns, and departments.
  • Manage a team of designers; support career trajectory and growth; conduct design reviews and provide feedback to maintain design consistency.
  • Hold formal and informal creative reviews, mentoring junior/midweight designers and providing effective feedback to improve quality against Marketing KPIs.
  • Identify inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement within the creative process.
  • Create, manage, and oversee the production of visually appealing marketing materials, including landing pages, email templates, social media graphics, display ads, and other digital assets to support company needs across departments and products.
  • Ensure that all marketing collateral aligns with Contentstack's brand guidelines, effectively maintaining brand consistency.
  • Provide creative oversight to ongoing video production, including wrappers/template creation and supervision of special company event videos.

What Really Gets Us Excited About You?

  • 10+ years of experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating creative excellence, brand development, and design discipline.
  • Deep knowledge of traditional and modern graphic design techniques and styles; capable of implementing their visual paradigms effectively.
  • Substantial knowledge in Adobe CC, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; experience with Figma, Monday, and other collaboration tools.
  • Experience in leading teams and fostering growth and development among individuals and core design teams.
  • Passion for design fundamentals such as typography, composition, and how graphic design can be most effective in communicating ideas, big and small.
  • Ability to quickly iterate through design details and communicate ideas concisely with designers, leads, and directors.
  • Ability to provide constructive criticism, feedback, direction, and have oversight over creative teams' schedules, tasks, workloads, and outputs while ensuring consistent and high-quality deliverables and experiences.
  • Professional attitude and a strong desire to engage with constructive critique.
  • Comfortable collaborating with a broad range of disciplines and the motivation to bring stakeholders into the process to help craft the best possible final product.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully working with a cross-disciplinary design team; experience in a creative or ad agency environment preferred.

Salary for this role ranges between $120,000 - 130,000 based on skill set and experience
