Join the Fornite Technical Animation team. Work with the team lead to help solve problems and support the animation team. Work with both unreal and maya to help facilitate the smooth transition of animation between the two software's. Create prop rigs and edit existing game characters to make them cinematics ready.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Pipeline Setup: Facilitate data transfer between Maya and Unreal Engine, ensuring seamless integration for artists. Work with the team lead to set priorities
  • Maya/Character Setup: Support character and asset setup in Maya, adapting to client requirements. Work with and support the animation team
  • Data Management: Handle facial capture data using Riglogic and body mocap data from Motion Builder, ensuring smooth cleanup and integration into Unreal Engine.
  • Control Rig: Develop and implement Control Rig controllers for in-game cinematics, ensuring animators have the necessary tools
  • Animation Blueprints (ABP): Master ABP for in-game cinematics, including but not limited to dynamics handling, building custom logic, and exposing controllers for animators
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve issues related to Metahuman and Riglogic for facial animations
  • Tool Development: Create tools in Maya and Unreal Engine using Python and Blueprint, with a focus on enhancing animator productivity

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Strong working knowledge in Maya
  • Extensive experience with Unreal Engine 5, including Animation Blueprints, Control Rig, and Dynamics.
  • Extensive experience with Maya, including Rigging, PyMel
  • Proficiency with Blueprints in UE5
  • Competence in Python
  • Proved work experience in Maya Unreal Engine pipelines
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for game cinematics

  • Bonus Requirements:

    • Knowledge of C++
    • Experience with PyQt, Unreal python, maya.cmds
    • Knowledge of AYON

    Salary Range:

    • $48 - $70 per hour
