Description -

What a Product Cost Analyst does at HP:

  • Provides overall cost intelligence including projections, trends, and drivers at the product and portfolio level to help drive business decisions. Ensures projections and costs are high confidence.
  • Drives cost reduction initiatives.
  • Performs and drives analysis of part, product and supply chain costs to provide visibility to cost drivers and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Manages business models and analyses to support proactive supply chain operation activities & projects.
  • Clearly explains what changes have occurred between revisions of product costs and proactively identifies cost reduction opportunities.
  • Presents information clearly and effectively to management.
  • Creates, documents and improves cost tools and processes.
  • Builds strong working relationships with R&D, Finance, and Operations partners and management.

Individual who do well in this role in HP, usually possess:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, Finance or equivalent.
  • Typically 3-6 years experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Business analytics and/or programming skills or advanced Microsoft Office skills, or experience with analytical tools, models and methods for making key business decisions.
  • Experience with mapping and optimization of work process a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and directing matrixed teams and resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at management levels.
  • Ability to get things done in a complex environment.
  • Self managed takes initiative.
