Job Description

Senior 3D Artist responsible for creating high-poly sculpts and real-time game assets, meeting project and studio standards. Collaborate with Lead Artist on asset creation, ensuring timely completion and quality. Proficient in 3ds Max, Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, Quixel, or Substance Painter; experience with Unity, Unreal, or Frostbite game engines is required. Responsibilities include maintaining production appearance, investigating client technology, exploring new technologies, and contributing to a team-oriented environment. A strong artistic background with a focus on photorealistic art, PBR, and human/creature anatomy is essential.
Must have:
  • 4+ years game dev experience

  • Game engine experience (Unity, Unreal)
  • Excellent communication skills

Description

Responsibilities

  • Work with Lead Artist and other artists to maintain production appearance, including quality and art style across all project assets
  • Develop, maintain, and create both high polygonal sculpts and real-time game assets matching (or exceeding) project and studio standards
  • Work with Lead Artists to ensure timely completion of game assets
  • Communicate regularly with the Lead Artist regarding the status of current tasks
  • Investigate client technology and be highly proficient in it
  • Help Lead Artist or develop briefs and documents for asset creation and training
  • Explore new technologies on the given platforms to achieve best possible results
  • Complete all tasks in a timely manner and to a consistent high quality standard
  • Contribute to the team-oriented environment

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in game development
  • Strong artistic background
  • Heavy focus on photorealistic art, high poly modeling, clear understanding of the normal map creation process and PBR
  • Strong understanding of human/creatures form and anatomy (necessary for character/creature artist)
  • Advanced proficiency in modeling, sculpting and texturing characters or environments using 3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush and Photoshop (or equivalent packages), Quixel or Substance Painter
  • Experience with Game Engine Technologies such as Unity and Unreal or Frostbite
  • Expert understanding of current game environment development processes, limitations and dependencies
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
  • Exceptional understanding of form, shape, structure and silhouette; as well as of light, shade, color and detail
  • Strong passion for making the highest quality state of the art games
  • Proactive and self-motivated, works without direct supervision
  • Self-motivation, good communication skills, and a great team-player attitude
  • Good English communication and writing skills
  • Experience or base knowledge of scripting languages, shader materials and in-game asset management is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create results driven, team oriented environment
  • Ability to create concept art
  • Traditional drawing, painting or sculpting skills
  • Understanding of rigging and skinning
