The Senior CMDB Developer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining CMDB solutions. Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining CMDB solutions, ensuring data integrity, developing custom scripts and integrations, onboarding new CI types, implementing discovery tools, ensuring ITIL compliance, developing CMDB reporting and dashboards, and resolving data discrepancies. The role requires a strong understanding of CMDB platforms, data modeling, scripting, APIs, and ITIL processes.
Must have:
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB or similar tools
  • Experience with CMDB architecture and data modeling
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like JavaScript, PowerShell, or Python
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs for integrations
  • Strong knowledge of ITSM, ITOM, and ITIL processes
  • Familiarity with discovery tools for CMDB population
  • Understanding of data governance and reconciliation
  • Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good to have:
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Implementation Specialist – CMDB
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure CMDB integrations
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and IT asset management
  • Experience with CMDB migration or large-scale data transformation projects

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled CMDB (Configuration Management Database) Developer to design, implement, and maintain CMDB solutions that ensure accurate and efficient IT asset and configuration management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, ITIL best practices, and integrations with various IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain CMDB solutions to support IT asset and configuration management.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency within the CMDB by implementing robust data models and workflows.
  • Develop custom scripts, automation, and integrations between CMDB and other IT systems (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, discovery tools).
  • Work with IT teams to onboard new CI (Configuration Item) types, attributes, and relationships.
  • Implement discovery tools (e.g., ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM, BMC Atrium) for automated population and reconciliation of CMDB data.
  • Ensure compliance with ITIL best practices and organization-specific policies for configuration management.
  • Develop and maintain CM
  • DB reporting and dashboards to provide visibility into IT assets and dependencies.
  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies, inconsistencies, and duplication within the CMDB.Provide technical guidance and documentation for CMDB architecture, workflows, and processes.

Primary Skills

 

  • Strong experience with CMDB platforms, especially ServiceNow CMDB or similar tools (e.g., BMC Atrium, IBM TADDM).
  • Hands-on experience with CMDB architecture, data modeling, and relationship mapping.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell, or Python for automation and integration.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs for CMDB data ingestion and third-party integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of ITSM, ITOM, and ITIL processes, particularly Configuration Management.
  • Familiarity with discovery tools (e.g., ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM, Tanium, SolarWinds) for automated CMDB population.
  • Understanding of data governance, normalization, and reconciliation techniques.
  • Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases for CMDB-related queries and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Implementation Specialist – CMDB.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure CMDB integrations (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, IT asset management (ITAM), and security compliance.
  • Experience with CMDB migration or large-scale data transformation projects.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
