Tesla is seeking a Senior New Product Introduction Engineer, Logistics for its Gigafactory in Berlin-Brandenburg. This newly created role involves planning and coordinating all pre-production logistics activities, including material flow from warehouses to production lines. Responsibilities include cross-functional collaboration with NPI engineers, logistics operations, material planning, and debug line operations to ensure seamless material movement. The successful candidate will develop efficient material flow strategies, optimize material flow processes, troubleshoot issues, prepare master data, and report on progress. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and technical knowledge of material flow strategies are essential.
Must have:
  • 3+ years project management experience in Automotive logistics
  • Knowledge of material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems
  • Experience in material flow, warehouse and lineside planning
  • Technical knowledge about material presentation and supply methods
  • Excellent communication skills (English C1 and higher)
Good to have:
  • Material handling and process equipment design experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management
What to Expect

The Senior New Product Introduction Engineer, Logistics is newly formed role, responsible for the planning and coordination of all pre-production Logistics activities. The successful candidate will join a strong and capable team, and will lead the cross functional coordination of NPI Engineers, NPI Logistics Operations, Logistics Engineering, Material Planning, and Debug Line Operations to ensure all internal movement of material is planned and executed seamlessly for each build phase. The successful candidate is required to be a self-starter with strong organisational capabilities and can manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time. Exceptional planning and communication skills are mandatory.

What You’ll Do
  • Planning and coordination of pre-production material flow from Tesla warehouses to the production lineside in line with program build phases and milestones.
  • Participate in and lead cross functional meetings to plan and execute logistics material planning and flow.
  • Creation and implementation of efficient material flow strategies and material presentation layouts.
  • Optimization of material flows in consideration of lean production and lean logistics.
  • Problem solving and escalation of issues restricting material flow. Take initiative proactively to drive solutions to issues.
  • Preparation of master data for the material flow system.
  • Report the plan and status in program and shopfloor meetings.
  • Effectively communicates and collaborates openly with vendors, internal management, maintenance and other mechanical and control engineers on worldwide Tesla Material Flow Engineering team.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or the equivalent in experience.
  • 3+ years of technical project management experience in Automotive or Tier1/ Tier2 logistics companies.
  • Knowledge of and experience with material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems.
  • Experience in material flow, warehouse and lineside planning within the automotive industry.
  • Technical knowledge about potential material presentation and supply methods.
  • Material handling and process equipment design experience within the manufacturing and material handling environment.
  • Ability to see a project from concept to manufacturing while working in a close-knit, team environment.
  • Values people, ethics, commitment, fun and an engaging culture.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to manage several complex projects at the same time with high degrees of variation and uncertainty 
  • Natural ability to speak and write effectively at all organizational levels 
  • Excellent communication - both written and spoken English skills (C1 and higher)
