Job Description

ByteDance seeks Senior Backend Software Engineers to develop and integrate e-commerce solutions for agencies and affiliates. Responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable, secure services; integrating with partner APIs; developing a global product for creator affiliates; optimizing creator funnels; and managing the full product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing high-throughput, fault-tolerant services, RESTful APIs, and scalable backend architectures. Mentoring junior engineers is also part of the role. The position requires significant experience in backend development using languages such as Golang, Java, Python, or C++ and working across all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities Develop efficient, highly scalable and secured services to build/integrate e-Commerce solutions for agencies and affiliates usage. Integrate shop platform with partner APIs to leverage existing ecosystem and scale up the business to a broader audience, while guaranteeing end-to-end scalability and providing a cohesive experience to customers. Design, develop and test the global product for the creator affiliate and agency product. Constantly work with Affiliate product team to optimize creator funnel and creator experiences. Complete ownership of product feature development, from initial requirement management to post-live analysis. Mentor junior level engineers and interns.

Qualifications

Qualifications Must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience Or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: Designing and implementing software service architecture to support high throughput and fault tolerant services; Designing and architecting large-scale, multi-tiered software applications, tools, or services; Designing and implementing scalable, fault tolerant, and low latency backend workflow orchestration architecture; Designing and implementing scalable RESTful APIs; Working across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of back-end or cloud native projects; and Writing testable, maintainable, and low latency software using high level programming languages, including Golang, Java, Python, or C++. Travel Requirement: Domestic and/or international travel up to 20% required. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $226158 - $355000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).​
