As a Senior Scanning Artist, you will play a crucial role in capturing and processing high-quality scans of real-world assets for our game development. Your expertise in photogrammetry and scanning techniques will drive the visual fidelity of our projects, ensuring every detail is meticulously captured for use in-game. You will collaborate closely with other artists, designers, and producers to build a library of intricate and authentic assets while mentoring junior artists in best practices.

Key Duties Include

  • Capturing, processing, and optimizing scans of real-world assets for use in-game
  • Working closely with Technical Artists to refine scanning pipelines and workflows
  • Assisting in the creation of documentation and standards for asset capture and processing
  • Mentoring junior scanning artists, sharing knowledge and techniques
  • Collaborating with various teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of assets
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest scanning technologies and methods

Requirements

  • Proven experience in utilizing scanning techniques for high-quality real-time art asset creation
  • Strong familiarity with realtime game engines and their asset requirements
  • Experience with 3D software such as Blender, 3DS Max, or similar
  • Solid understanding of PBR material workflows and creation
  • Ability to work with cameras, lenses, and lighting techniques to achieve optimal scan results
  • Proven capability to work independently and maintain organized workflows
  • A willingness to travel for asset capture when necessary

Desirable

  • Driving license & international travel passport
  • Knowledge of advanced scanning technologies such as LIDAR and NeRF
  • Interest in areas such as architecture, geology, or motorsport
  • Experience working on AAA game titles
