Job Description

This senior-level role involves technical leadership on high-impact projects within Google's Content Safety Platform. Responsibilities include influencing and coaching a distributed engineering team, managing project priorities, and designing, developing, testing, and deploying large-scale software solutions. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in full-stack development (Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript), design and architecture, and working with large-scale data structures and algorithms. The role requires a deep understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to lead and mentor a team while collaborating effectively in a matrixed organizational structure.

Must have:

8+ years software development experience
Full-stack development expertise
Experience with large-scale systems
Strong leadership and communication skills
Data structures & algorithms proficiency

Good to have:

Master's or PhD in CS/Engineering
Technical leadership experience
Experience with process optimization
Experience in a complex, matrixed organization

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
7 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end (e.g., Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases), and front-end (e.g., JavaScript or TypeScript), or equivalent.
5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages, including Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, or Go.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
Experience improving engineering productivity through process optimization and automation.
