Job Description

Senior Technical Artist (Rigging) with 6+ years experience in Maya, Unreal Engine 5, and Python scripting. Must have strong understanding of 3D modeling and animation principles.

Bladework Games is a newly-formed game studio developing an original, living, online multiplayer IP for the PC first and cross platform future. We are building a new take on the dungeon running experience, focused on fast-paced, fun, co-op competitive experiences.

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative technical artist to join our team. An expert who will not only help us by creating high quality rigs and improving our art pipeline but will also have opportunities to make impacts on other areas of the project. Using industry-standard applications, including Unreal Engine, you will have the opportunity to push the quality of content and enable the other departments to integrate their work into a cohesive whole. You would be a great fit if you love playing games and enjoy the challenge of building a game from the early stages.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years experience as a Tech Artist in the video game industry.
  • Recent experience working with Maya, Unreal Engine 5, Perforce.
  • Knowledge of a coding language. Strong Python scripting abilities.
  • Strong understanding of 3D modeling, texturing, and animation principles.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to communicate effectively through a remote setting.
  • Experienced developing for digital content creation custom tools to help expedite processes and tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Character & Creature rigging, rigging through pipeline scripts, skinning, including creation of pipelines for hair, face and cloth.
  • Rigging for character customization features.
  • Assist artists, programmers and designers in developing new tools and features.
  • Improve tools and processes for art pipelines, and ensures robust optimization
  • Provide hands-on technical support for the art team.
