BKOM Studios seeks a passionate Technical Artist to bridge the gap between artists and programmers. Responsibilities include optimizing production pipelines, improving workflows, ensuring high visual quality with optimal performance, developing tools, resolving technical issues related to assets and shaders, and facilitating communication between teams. The ideal candidate possesses significant video game industry experience, strong scripting skills (Python, C#), game engine knowledge (Unity, Unreal Engine), shader creation and optimization expertise (HLSL, GLSL), and a deep understanding of 3D production pipelines. Problem-solving abilities, team collaboration skills, and a desire for innovation are crucial.

Job Details






We are looking for a passionate and versatile Technical Artist to join our team and help us optimize our production pipelines, improve our workflows and guarantee the best visual quality while maintaining good performance.

As a Technical Artist, you will be the bridge between artists and programmers. You will work closely with the artistic and technical teams to resolve technical issues, develop tools and ensure smooth integration of assets into our game engines.




  • Develop and optimize artistic production pipelines;
  • Support the artistic team in the use of tools and software;
  • Work in collaboration with the 3D, VFX and animation teams to create tools to improve their quality of life;
  • Automate repetitive tasks in both gaming engines and artistic production software;
  • Resolve technical issues related to assets, shaders and integration into the game engine;
  • Ensure visual quality while optimizing performance;
  • Ensure technological monitoring of innovations in Tech Art and document it;
  • Facilitate communication between the Technical and Artistic team.


Requirements


  • Significant experience as a Technical Artist in the video game industry;
  • Excellent skills in developing scripts and tools (Python, C#, etc.);
  • Good knowledge of game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine, etc.);
  • Experience creating and optimizing shaders (HLSL, GLSL, Shader Graph, Material Editor, etc.);
  • Good understanding of technical constraints and 3D production pipelines;
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to asset performance and integration;
  • Team spirit and ability to communicate effectively with artists and programmers;
  • Curiosity and desire to innovate to constantly improve processes.

BONUS
  • Experience with Houdini and procedural tools;
  • Knowledge of physical simulation and real-time VFX;
  • Experience with Git, Perforce or other version management tools;
  • Experience in developing plugins for 3D software (Maya, Blender, etc.).
