Job Description

As a Senior Visual Designer at Google Cloud Vertex AI, you'll leverage user-centered design to craft exceptional user experiences, from concept to execution. Collaborate with design partners to utilize and enhance Google's design language, building innovative and user-friendly products. Responsibilities include maturing and evolving design frameworks, defining and maintaining asset management tools and processes, exploring concept development to influence product visuals, and partnering with internal visual programs to apply new design styles. This role demands strong communication and collaboration skills within a complex, cross-functional organization.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Design or related field
  • 6+ years visual design experience in product or UX/UI design
  • Experience with design systems and tools (Figma, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Experience in illustration, animation, or motion graphics
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in Design or related field
  • 8+ years experience in product design or UX
  • 3+ years in a complex, cross-functional organization
  • Experience in rapid prototyping
  • Ability to communicate design rationale

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of visual design experience in product design or UX/UI design.
  • Experience implementing visual design systems across platforms in an iterative software development environment, applying design tools (e.g. Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch).
  • Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: illustration, animation, motion graphics, creative direction, prototyping.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
  • Experience in rapid prototyping.
  • Ability to communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale within a user-centered design process.
  • Excellent communication and influencing product designing skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Mature and evolve the notion of framework by collaborating with other leads to form a cohesive offering across Google products.
  • Work across programs to define, maintain, and evolve the tools, processes, and communication around asset management.
  • Leverage principal contributors to explore concept development to influence product, a point-of-view around visual style, and product commitments.
  • Defend Google products, our brand promise, and its unique value prop amid an interlaced relationship with Google.
  • Partner with visual programs within our organization to evolve and apply new design styles and aesthetics for our suite of products.
