Teamwork and communication are essential for efficient project completion and maintaining a clean job site. This is a full-time, permanent position with a wage of $25-$28 per hour, plus overtime. Must have:

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled single ply roofer to join our team. This position focuses on the installation, repair, and maintenance of TPO, PVC, and EPDM roofing systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with thermoplastic membranes, is detail-oriented, safety-driven, and committed to high-quality workmanship in a collaborative team environment.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

· Single Ply Roofing Installation & Repair:

  • Apply insulation and cover boards with adhesives or mechanical fasteners as specified.
  • Install TPO, PVC, and EPDM roofing membranes using fully adhered, mechanically fastened, or ballasted systems.
  • Weld seams using hot air welding tools and ensure watertight integrity.
  • Flash penetrations and terminations per manufacturer and project specifications.
  • Identify and repair damage or leaks in existing systems.

 

· Safety & Compliance:

  • Follow OSHA safety guidelines, including proper use of fall protection, PPE, and ladders.
  • Understand safety risks associated with working at heights and in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold).
  • Participate in regular safety training, jobsite inspections, and compliance checks.

 

· Teamwork & Communication:

 

  • Work closely with other crew members to complete projects e􀆯iciently and accurately.
  • Follow supervisor instructions and communicate e􀆯ectively with team members.
  • Ensure a clean and organized job site.

 

JOB INFORMATION

  • POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 10
  • JOB TYPE: Full time/Permanent position.
  • WAGE PER HOUR $25/hr - $28/hr depending on experience. If any worker cannot qualify to get on Ft. Cavazos, but is otherwise qualified to perform the required work, their pay rate will drop by $2/hour.
  • HOURS PER WEEK: 40+
  • OVER TIME: $37/hr - $42/hr
  • EXPECTED OVER TIME: 10
  • WORKWEEK: Monday – Friday Please provide daily start and end time. 
  • CAN THEY WORK EXTRA DAYS?: as needed
  • EXTRA DAYS: 30% of the year
  • WORK WEEKENDS: as needed
  • PAY DAYS: Weekly on Friday
  • PAYMENT TYPE: Direct deposit preferred (paper check possible)
  • BREAK TIMES: as needed
  • JOB START DATE: immediately

 

 

Qualifications

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Work at heights. Climbing ladders/scaffold. Work outside (heat and cold). Lift up to 75 pounds. Repetitive movements may be required for some tasks. English is helpful but not required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED?: Yes, 2 years experience with single-ply roof installation

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with installation and repair of TPO, PVC, or EPDM roof systems.
  • Ability to read roofing details, follow specifications, and perform precise work.
  • Proficiency with hot air welders, screw guns, roller applicators, and other related tools.
  • Strong understanding of roofing safety standards and ability to safely work at heights.
  • Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and unpredictable Texas weather.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Comfortable climbing ladders and safely working on steep slopes at heights.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in hot and cold Central Texas weather conditions.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Work is conducted outdoors at commercial roofing worksites.
  • Must be comfortable with exposure to varying weather conditions and heights while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project timelines or address urgent safety concerns.

Candidate Requirements: As this position will be working at a government project site, there are additional requirements that are mandatory for candidates to be considered for a position with JohnsonRoofing. Inability to comply with any of the following are immediate disqualifications for this position:

· Successfully pass a NCIC-III background check conducted by the U.S. government. Violations include, but are not limited to:

  • A claimed identity that cannot be verified based on the reasonable belief that the person
  • submitted fraudulent identity information in the attempt to gain access.
  • Current arrest warrant in NCIC, regardless of the o􀆯ense or violation.
  • Current bar from entry or access to a federal installation or facility.
  • Conviction of crimes encompassing sexual assault, armed robbery, rape, child molestation, production or possession of child pornography, tracking in humans, or drug possession with intent to sell or distribute.
  • Conviction for espionage, sabotage, sedition, treason, terrorism, or murder.
  • Being registered as a sex ofender.
  • Felony conviction within the last 10 years, regardless of the o􀆯ense or violation.
  • Felony conviction for a firearms or explosives violation, regardless of when the conviction occurred.
  • Engaged in acts or activities designed to overthrow the U.S. government by force.

FLIGHT TRANSPORTATION

  • PAID FLIGHT TO BUSINESS LOCATION?: Company will pay for flight to Texas. Employee will reimburse company via payroll deductions. Will refund cost of flight after 6 months.
  • AIRPORT OF ARRIVAL: Austin, TX or Dallas, TX
  • PAID FLIGHT HOME?: No, this is a permanente position.
  • TRAVEL FOOD EXPENSE COVERED? Employer will cover $30/day when travelling to TX
  • MEAL UPON ARRIVAL? Employerill may cover $30 for meal when they arrive in TX---meal will be with some company representatives.
  • GROCERY STIPEND: $250 per worker will be given in the form of gift card for local grocery store.

 

WORKPLACE TRANSPORTATION

  • TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM WORKSITE: At least one worker per house needs to have a valid driver's license for operating a vehicle in TX (and must be able to follow all TX driving laws). Company vehicle will be made available for work use. Is gas also provided to commute from housing to place of employment and back?
  • FOR HOW LONG IS TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED? IS IT FREE OR AT WORKER'S COST: Duration of work, so long as one employee per house has a valid driver's license for operating a vehicle in Tx. Proper documentation of identity and pass a written, driving, and vision/medical examination.

 

HOUSING

  • HOUSING TYPE: House or apartment will be available. Employr reserves the right to change the optional housin for another that suits better the company interests.
  • NUMBER OF UNITS: Will depend on number of workers.
  • INDIVIDUAL OR SHARED ROOMS?: Shared -- two people per bedroom.
  • RENT PER PERSON?: Paid by employer with payroll deduction to reimburse costs, cost will depend on the price of the rent, divided amount the number of workers in the house.  May be deducted from paycheck.
