As a Software Engineer, you'll optimize Google Ads bidding systems using algorithms and Machine Learning (ML). You'll contribute to infrastructure supporting various bidding teams (Search, Shopping, Performance Max, etc.), analyze problems using statistical methods, and write C++ and Python code. Responsibilities include design documentation, code health improvements, automation, and participation in on-call shifts. The role requires experience with software development, data structures, and algorithms, with preferred qualifications in ML infrastructure, optimization techniques, and software testing.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years software development experience
  • 2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
  • C++ and Python coding skills
  • Optimization and ML experience
Good to have:
  • ML infra and systems experience
  • Experience in Optimization techniques
  • Experience in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Machine Learning (ML) infra and systems.
  • Experience in Optimization techniques.
  • Experience in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Optimize bidding systems via algorithms and Machine Learning (ML) methods, interacting with teams and systems on ML tools and ML Models for bidding.
  • Contribute to infrastructure supporting Search, Shopping, Performance Max and a number of other Google bidding teams.
  • Work on analysis problems employing and statistical methods.
  • Write C++ and Python code, and contribute to design docs, code health, automation, and alert automation.
  • Participate in the On Call shift for Proxbyidder Platforms/Algos/Optimization along with other team members.
