TEAM INTRODUCTION IaaS-US team focuses on the development and research of ByteDance Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform. The IaaS division focuses on building large-scale and highly available cloud & AI infrastructure, which supports both Bytedance public cloud products and its corporate products such as Douyin. We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2025. Internships at ByteDance aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following start dates below: - Monday, May 12 - Monday, May 19 - Tuesday May 27 (Memorial Day May 27) - Monday, June 9 - Monday, June 23 We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates. RESPONSIBILITIES - Research and develop key technologies of Cloud & AI Infra, including AI training and inference optimization, high performance AI networks, software and hardware co-design, and latest CPU/GPU and server platform technologies, etc. - Present our research and products in academic papers.

Minimum Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. - Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2025 - Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment. - Familiar with cloud infrastructure or AI infrastructure. - Familiar with Go and Python development in Linux environments. - Ability to work independently and complete projects from beginning to end and in a timely manner. - Good communication and teamwork skills to clearly communicate technical concepts with other teammates. Preferred Qualifications: - Graduating December 2025 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship. - Experience with at least one of the following areas: LLM inference or training infrastructure, framework, engine, etc. Next-gen CPU, GPU, server platform or hardware acceleration related projects. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) core components, such as virtualization, cloud networking, cluster scalability, reliability, etc. Network hardware offloading and P4 programmable network. Network protocol optimization, such as congestion control. Machine learning based intelligent networks. - Having publications on top tier CS conferences is strongly preferred.
