The purpose of this role is to create solution architectures for systems and platforms ensuring all relevant options are explored for time, cost and compliance to the company’s standards, policies and practices whilst meeting the business’ requirements. The role will oversee the work of other architects and delivery of the solution for clients both internal and external, shepherding it through the relevant governance.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Solution Architect to join our Commerce & Content Business Unit in Milan.

Reporting to our eCommerce Director, as Solution Architect you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative digital IT solutions that meet our clients' diverse business needs. You will collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to develop comprehensive architectures that leverage cutting-edge technologies and drive business success. In addition to your role as a Solution Architect, you will also analyze and define requirement of our projects with our development team, bridging the gap between technical solutions and business requirements to ensure alignment and maximize value for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of end-to-end solutions tailored to meet clients' specific requirements and objectives.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend the most suitable technologies and platforms for each project.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of client business processes, workflows, and requirements to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Engage with clients to understand their business challenges, objectives, and technical requirements, and translate these into robust architectural designs.
  • Work closely with project managers, development teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
  • Create comprehensive architecture documentation, including diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans, to guide the development and implementation process.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in proposed solutions and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish testing protocols and ensure the quality and reliability of delivered solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating existing processes, tools, and methodologies, and identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in development, solution architecture and business analysis, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex IT solutions.
  • Application of Agile development methodologies;
  • Application of DevOps methodologies;
  • Application of methodologies for the Cloud (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS);
  • Data model design and planning;
  • Proficiency in a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform), enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, Salesforce, AEM), CMS (Strapi, Contentful, Magnolia) databases, networking, and security.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and lead teams towards common goals
