Job Description

Dew Software is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to design and develop mechanical systems and components. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with clients to deliver high-performance solutions. Responsibilities include leading design and development, creating engineering drawings and documentation, conducting feasibility studies and simulations, collaborating with other engineers, managing project timelines, conducting testing and validation, staying up-to-date with industry trends, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Experience in Designing electromechanical products, UL/IEC standards, plastics, sheetmetal, casting part design, tolerance stack up analysis, cable assemblies, ECAD/MCAD integrations, structural and thermal design, DFX for high volume production, prototype techniques, SolidWorks and EPDM is required.
Must have:
  • Hands-on experience in Designing electromechanical products
  • Good exposure on UL/IEC and related standards.
  • Good Exposure on plastics, Sheetmetal, casting part design and manufacturing process
  • Expert in tolerance stack up analysis
  • Good understanding on cable assemblies
  • Good experience in ECAD/MCAD integrations
  • Good exposure on structural and thermal design considerations
  • Good Exposure on DFX for high volume production
  • Good exposure on prototype techniques for Design development and verification
  • Expertise in SolidWorks and EPDM
Good to have:
  • Knowledge on any other CAD packages
  • Experience in the design and sustaining activities on high-volume products (+500k pa)
  • Previous employment in high-power and consumer products industries

Dew Software is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Staff Mechanical Engineer at Dew Software, you will play a key role in designing and developing innovative mechanical systems and components for various applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with clients to deliver high-performance solutions. Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the design and development of mechanical systems and components
  • Create and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation
  • Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and analysis to ensure proper design fit, functionality, and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing professionals
  • Manage and coordinate project timelines, resources, and deliverables
  • Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and components
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in mechanical engineering
  • Ensure compliance with design standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance

Requirements

Ø  Hands on experience in Designing electromechanical products

Ø  Good exposure on UL/IEC and related standards.

Ø  Good Exposure on plastics, Sheetmetal, casting part design and manufacturing process

Ø  Expert in tolerance stack up analysis

Ø  Good understanding on cable assemblies,

Ø  Good experience in ECAD/MCAD integrations

Ø  Good exposure on structural and thermal design considerations

Ø  Good Exposure on DFX for high volume production

Ø  Good exposure on prototype techniques for Design development and verification

Ø  Expertise in SolidWorks and EPDM. Knowledge on any other CAD packages will be an added advantage.

Ø  Designing new components and products, sometimes as sole contributor but often as part of a team of contributors

Ø  Reviewing and analyzing solutions to achieve the best outcome for performance/cost/schedule

Ø  Mechanical Design verification test: Testing proof-of-concepts and prototypes for performance

Ø  Failure analysis and root cause identification

Ø  Component review and approval, including global travel to be on-site at vendors during pre- production

Ø  Generating own (and reviewing others’) documentation, including concept proposals, analysis reports, component specifications, review minutes

Ø  Ensure quality by Design

Ø  Experience in the design and sustaining activities on high-volume products (+500k pa) would be a plus and also previous employment in high-power and consumer products industries would be a plus.

  • Collaborative Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including AI engineers and SREs.
  • Documentation: Effective documentation skills to maintain clear and organized records of models, infrastructure configurations, and incident responses.
