Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Be knowledgeable of industry best practices and work with business and development teams to continuously improve the organization's security posture as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team.
- Continuously assess our system and then design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance security solutions. Communicate results of security assessments with stakeholders in the larger engineering teams.
- Be responsible for ensuring security of both customer data and Google IP from threats across the full stack, from the hardware to the application layer. This includes conducting technical security assessments and code reviews to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
- Lead security reviews and arrange pentests for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) products and mentor team members on security techniques and practices.
