As a VFX Artist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality visual effects that enhance gameplay, atmosphere, and storytelling. From explosive action sequences to subtle environmental effects, you’ll be a key part of shaping the game’s visual identity.
You will work closely with art, design, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of effects while maintaining performance and artistic vision.
Responsibilities
Create and implement real-time particle effects for an action-puzzle platformer.
Design stylized VFX for combat, environment interactions, puzzles, and character abilities.
Develop shader-based visual effects and procedural techniques to enhance gameplay immersion.
Optimize VFX for performance and visual quality on multiple platforms.
Collaborate with designers to ensure effects convey mechanics and feedback clearly.
Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies to push creative boundaries.
Requirements
2+ years of experience as a VFX artist in game development.
Strong portfolio demonstrating real-time VFX, particle effects, and shader work.
Proficiency with Unity (Shuriken, VFX Graph) or Unreal Engine (Niagara, Cascade).
Deep understanding of timing, motion, and readability in VFX design.
Ability to optimize effects for performance without sacrificing quality.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Bonus Skills
Experience with EmberGen or other procedural tools.
Knowledge of VFX Graph in Unity.
Experience in stylized VFX for platformers or puzzle games.
