The candidate will work in the ATF (Aero Thermal Fluids) group, responsible for designing and analyzing bearings and seals for pump-fed liquid rocket engine systems. This involves using software tools and hand calculations. They will collaborate with design engineers, select materials, and mitigate lubrication and wear risks. The role also includes mentoring less experienced engineers, producing reports, and presenting analysis. The candidate is expected to work with minimal oversight. This position requires a strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics. They need to be proficient with ANSYS Workbench and tools associated with turbomachinery analysis and familiar with LINUX systems. Programming experience in MATLAB, FORTRAN, and Python is required.
