The Assistant Editor Internship at arx anima involves managing and organizing audio, video, and animation files for the editor and production team to ensure a smooth workflow. Responsibilities include maintaining file structure, incorporating updates, making timing adjustments, preparing sequences, addressing feedback, liaising with the production team, finalizing sequences, archiving materials, and preparing deliverables. The intern will support the editor by preparing sequences based on instructions and making revisions based on feedback from directors and producers. This internship is a part-time role with 20 hours per week.
Must have:

  • Incorporating updated shots and scenes
  • Making minor timing adjustments
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Shotgrid

About us: 

We are arx anima, an animation studio based in Vienna, Frankfurt, Leipzig & Madrid and have been producing animation cinema productions for years. We also have the courage to try every new technical challenge and innovation. 

Be it pioneering in lighting with Houdini Solaris / USD workflows, the realisation of a high-end MoCap studio, or the construction of the largest render farm in Austria. And besides all the R&D, features, and series we love to work on creatively animated commercials and other service work. For example, we just revived Mozart through an immersive 360° art projection about Vienna in his era.

Assistant Editor Internship Job description (Part time)

Strong understanding of Adobe Premiere.

Knowledge of Shotgrid preferable.

Managing and organizing audio, video, and animation files for the editor / production to ensure a smooth workflow.

Maintaining file structure: Setting up and managing the project folders and naming conventions in editing software.

Incorporating updates: Replacing storyboards with updated shots, rendered scenes, or revised animations as they become available.

Timing adjustments: Making minor adjustments to shot timing, ensuring the pacing aligns with the director's vision.

Supporting the editor: Preparing sequences or specific edits based on the editor’s instructions.

Addressing feedback: Making revisions based on feedback from directors, producers, or editor.

Liaising with the production team regarding departments (layout, animation, lighting) to ensure the accuracy of delivered assets. Pushing all updates to Shotgrid.

Finalizing sequences: Assisting in the assembly of final scenes by ensuring all elements (audio, video, visual effects) are correctly in place.

Archiving materials: Organizing and archiving project files once sequences are completed.

Deliverables: Preparing exports for internal reviews, screenings, or deliveries to sound and visual effects teams.
