The Associate Media Planner will be the daily point of contact for the account, expected to understand the client's business and marketing goals. They will manage the tactical communications planning process and offer recommendations. Responsibilities include creating media plans, analyzing results, writing POVs, evaluating media types, and assisting with client interactions. The role involves daily client interaction, handling expectations, and contributing to growing business opportunities within current clients. They will be expected to manage client interaction, handle expectations of clients and deliverables, and assist in advising clients on the best ways to integrate media into their advertising and marketing programs.

The Associate Media Planner is the daily focal point to the account. Associate Media Planners are expected to have daily responsibility for assigned accounts and are expected to understand our client's overall business and marketing goals. Associate Media Planners steward the tactical communications planning process and provide mid-level recommendations to the senior media team and client. You will report to a senior member on the team.

Communications Planning and Execution:

  • Aid in the creation of client media communication plan goals
  • Create media plans, flowcharts, buying guidelines, testing plans & results analysis, budget summaries, plan delivery and reports
  • Contribute to our communications opportunities relevant to assigned brand/category
  • Write POVs and evaluate new media types / outlets
  • Support Communications Planning Supervisor in the collection and evaluation of syndicated consumer and media usage information
  • Compile reports of competitive market/media information for each brand/category
  • Support ACPD/CPS as a facilitating contact point for client's internal media staff and the primary contact point to client's brand staff when media issues are discussed
  • May oversee the work of Assistant Communication Planners, ensuring that all deliverables are error free before they are submitted to Supervisors/clients

Client & Internal Relationships:

  • Manage daily client interaction
  • Handle expectations of clients and deliverables
  • Assist Supervisor in advising clients on the best ways to integrate media into their advertising and marketing programs
  • Assist Supervisor in growing business opportunities within current clients
  • May inform client/team of new opportunities or issues
  • Lead, if appropriate, face-to-face client and vendor meetings
  • Build relationships with internal and external teams and set good example for assistant level

Qualifications

  • 0-1 year of integrated media planning experience
  • Experience with the media process, media department and inter-department relationships
  • Present well-considered ideas and solutions
  • Prioritize due to changes in client goals, priorities or budgets while minimizing impact on project momentum
  • Relate results to client goals
  • Experience with online research tools such as Nielsen, @Plan, AdRelevance, etc.

Additional information

The annual salary range for this position is ($39,000- $62,962). Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
