Job Description

As an Audio Artist 3 at Electronic Arts, you will be responsible for creating high-quality audio assets, editing and implementing them using various tools and game engines, and collaborating with different departments to ensure audio aligns with the game vision. You will be expected to meet deadlines, provide audio post-production for narrative experiences, troubleshoot audio-related bugs, and communicate with team members and external partners. Additionally, you'll be guiding audio content creation and implementation, and contributing to the audio community across EA Studios. This role involves working on projects like a Marvel Iron Man game, blending detailed and imaginative sound design. This is an 18-month temporary position.
Must have:
  • Create quality audio and design assets.
  • Edit and implement audio using audio tools and game engines.
  • Collaborate with other departments and Audio Directors.
  • Submit final audio files by the planned deadlines.
  • Provide crafted audio for scripted events.
  • Resolve audio-related issues within the game.
  • Proficiency in game audio authoring tools and pipelines.
Good to have:
  • Experience with game engines (e.g., Unreal)
  • Expertise in a major DAW (e.g., ProTools, Reaper)
  • Familiarity with version control tools.
  • Comfortable with modern audio equipment and recording techniques.
  • Additional technical skills with Reaper workflows, Python scripting, and Unreal workflows.

The Studio EA Create is a collective of content production teams partnering with EA Studios game teams to provide outstanding visuals, audio and technology. Our teams consist of artists, engineers, technicians, designers and development directors. The Role Join EA's Create Audio team as an Audio Artist and become an important player in creating award-winning soundscapes for groundbreaking projects. This temporary, full-time role offers collaboration with audio professionals and core game teams, renowned for titles like Star Wars Squadrons and the Dead Space remake. Dive into the sound design for a Marvel Iron Man game, blending detailed, grounded sounds with imaginative sci-fi elements. Responsibilities: * Create Quality Audio: Design assets that improve the game experience. * Edit and Implement Audio: Use audio tools and game engines to edit and implement audio assets. * Collaborate Across departments: Partner with Design, Animation, VFX, and Audio Directors to ensure that audio aligns with the game vision. * Follow Timelines: Submit final audio files by the planned deadlines. * Audio Post-Production: Provide crafted audio for scripted events to support the narrative experience. * Troubleshoot Bugs: Resolve audio-related issues within the game. * Communicate with team members and external partners. * Ownership: Guide the audio content creation and implementation for your missions or other features. * Community Engagement: Contribute to the audio community across EA Studios by encouraging collaboration and sharing expertise. Qualifications: * 4+ years of experience * Artistic, creative, and technical sensibilities * Proficiency in game audio authoring tools and pipelines (e.g., Wwise) * Experience with game engines (e.g., Unreal) * Expertise in at least one major DAW (e.g., ProTools, Reaper) * Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Perforce) * Comfortable with modern audio equipment and recording techniques * Additional technical skills with Reaper Workflows, Python scripting, and Unreal workflows. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting.
