Job Description

Responsibilities include kitchen maintenance and cleaning, following food safety requirements, and managing stocks and supplies. The ideal candidate is creative, passionate about food and customer service, and can work effectively in a high-pressure environment with excellent communication and teamwork skills. The role requires assisting the Sous Chef in preparing hot food and soups, maintaining kitchen hygiene, attending training, and ensuring personal hygiene and proper uniform. Previous experience in a food production environment, food hygiene and safety training, and strong communication skills are essential.

Job Description

What you will be doing:

  • Food preparation and cooking, plating, presentation
  • Kitchen maintenance and cleaning, following food safety requirements
  • Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies

Your experience and skills include:

  • Creative and passionate about food and customer service
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
  • Add diplomas/certifications required if needed

Your team and working environment:

  • Helps in preparing hot food and soups, under the guidance of the Sous Chef
  • Helps with the Kitchen sanitation, try to reach the highest level of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Must attend all scheduled training and on the job training sessions.
  • Ensure the highest level of personal hygiene; uniform is worn in the correct and cleanliness manner.
  • Assists in checking all equipment and utensils

 

Qualifications

  • Have a strong passion for food.
  • 1 year of experience in food production environment
  • Food Hygiene and Safety trained.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Have an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
  • Be driven to succeed.
  • Must possess outstanding guest services skills, professional presentation and sophisticated communication skills.
  • Proficient in the English language (verbal & written), second language is an asset.
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment.
  • Previous service experience an asset.
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Highly responsible & reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team.
  • positive attitude.
