Job Description

Enphase Energy seeks a Technical Support Engineer in Tokyo, Japan, to provide technical support to homeowners and installers via phone and email. Responsibilities include resolving technical issues, managing cases, collaborating with field service and applications engineers, updating the knowledge base, and staying current on industry trends. The ideal candidate has at least one year of customer support or technical experience, a bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent), fluency in English and Japanese, and excellent communication and organizational skills. Understanding of electrical systems and PV systems is a plus. The role offers a hybrid work option after initial training and various benefits.

About the role
We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our team and support customers in Tokyo - Japan. With our outstanding technical expertise, we at Enphase customer support are helping our customers to make the best use of their Enphase solar PV systems. The most advanced technology at Enphase allows us to monitor and control each component in the field. Industry-leading innovation and continuous learning allows us to always remain one step ahead of our installer partners and be well-equipped to provide professional support during the commissioning of new sites.
 
To give our customers the best experience and quick resolution. You will be responsible for professional and timely resolution or referral of technical issues that may involve hardware, software, communications, installation, or a blend of variables.  
What you will do
  • Enhance customer experience: Assist homeowners and installers by resolving technical issues and providing support during commissioning via phone and email.
  • Case management: Track and document customer cases, ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Collaborative problem solving: Work closely with Enphase Field Service Technicians and Field Applications Engineers to resolve complex issues.
  • Knowledge building: Utilize and update our support knowledge base, while continuously advancing your understanding of PV systems and technologies.
  • Continuous learning: Stay on top of the latest industry trends and developments to ensure our customers always receive expert-level guidance.
What you bring
  • Experience & education: At least 1 year of experience in customer support or a relevant technical role. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Language skills: Fluency in English (minimum B2 level) and Japanese (minimum C1 level) is essential. 
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts.
  • Organizational skills: Highly organized, process-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Tech savvy: Understanding of electrical systems, AC & DC circuits (PV knowledge is a plus). Familiarity with MS Office, and Salesforce is an advantage.
  • Ownership & initiative: A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to take responsibility for tasks from start to finish.
