Project description

A leading Australian bank has engaged us to build a dedicated team at their Offshore Development Centre. We are seeking an experienced Murex Support Consultant with extensive financial markets exposure. Key responsibilities include providing Level 3 Murex technical production support during London business hours, managing Red Hat Linux environments (including Linux and Java processes, SWAP management, mount points, and AD integration), performing Oracle 19c performance tuning (report writing, SQL query optimization, and index management), and handling Control-M schedule incident management.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills and effective collaboration with both onshore and offshore teams, during London working hours. Responsibilities

6+ years experience in similar role

Murex Technical Production Support (L3):

Provide Level 3 support for Murex technical production, ensuring seamless operation during London business hours.

Resolve technical issues and provide continuous support to maintain optimal system performance.

Red Hat Linux Administration:

Manage and maintain Red Hat Linux environments with strong expertise in Linux and Java processes.

Handle SWAP management, mount points, and Active Directory (AD) integration to ensure system stability and performance.

Oracle 19c Performance Tuning:

Perform performance tuning on Oracle 19c databases, including writing reports, optimizing SQL queries, and managing indexes.

Ensure the database is running efficiently and effectively to support business operations.

Control-M Schedule Incident Management:

Manage and resolve incidents related to Control-M scheduling to maintain the smooth operation of batch processes.

Ensure timely resolution of issues to avoid disruptions to business operations.

Skills and Experience Required:

Proven experience in Murex technical production support, particularly during London business hours.

Strong background in Red Hat Linux administration, including proficiency in Linux and Java processes, SWAP management, mount points, and AD integration.

Extensive experience in Oracle 19c performance tuning, with the ability to write detailed reports and optimize SQL queries and indexes.

Expertise in Control-M schedule incident management, with a focus on maintaining seamless batch operations.

Broad exposure to financial markets and understanding of financial instruments.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with both onshore and offshore teams.

OS: RHEL 7, Unix, and Java process knowledge

Applying incident, change, and service management within a financial services environment

Cloud: AWS

Nice to have

DevOps on Murex experience (GIT, Jenkins, JIRA etc)
