As a Data Engineer, you will maintain, clean, and manipulate data in operational and analytics databases. You will collaborate with software engineers, data analytics teams, and data scientists to understand database requirements, analyze performance, and troubleshoot issues. Responsibilities include working with data suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, security, and efficient processing. This involves tasks like data pipeline architecture creation, process improvement implementation, and support for data infrastructure needs. The position reports to the Director of Merkury Data Management.

  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering

Job Details

The purpose of this role is to maintain, improve, clean and manipulate data in the business's operational and analytics databases. The Data Engineer works with the business's software engineers, data analytics teams, data scientists and data warehouse engineers in order to understand and aid in the implementation of database requirements, analyse performance, and troubleshoot any existent issues.

Job Description:

As the Data Engineer, you will maintain, clean and manipulate data in the business’s operational and analytics databases. You will work with our software engineers, data analytics teams, data scientists, and data warehouse engineers to understand and aid in the implementation of database requirements, analyze performance, and trouble shoot any existent issues.

This is a remote position reporting to Director Merkury Data Management.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work with Data Suppliers (technical) for receiving data feeds
  • You will work with Suppliers on technical and data related issues to resolve
  • You will work with Internal Contracts team to understand data terms, layout, permissible usage
  • You will work with Internal Support teams to set up sFTP or s3 access/accounts
  • You will validate data delivery from Suppliers to ensure the data is aligned with what is expected
  • You will work with our teams on requirements for processing the data
  • You will work with internal operations team to understand and support production processing on US time
  • Maintain operational documents to ensure they are current
  • Create data pipeline architecture
  • Identify, design, implement internal process improvements; automate manual processes; increase data delivery, re-desing re-design infrastructure for greater scalability
  • You will work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Keep our data separated and secure
  • Understand data identity and analysis concepts

The annual salary range for this position is $68,000-110,400. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
