As a Data Scientist in the Candy Crush Soda Saga team, you will develop new monetization features, optimize existing ones, and discover opportunities to enhance player engagement and revenue. You'll partner with product and other stakeholders to leverage data in creative ways, influencing key decisions that shape the future of the game. Your responsibilities include developing and testing new monetization features, optimizing existing features, discovering growth opportunities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the evolution of data science methodologies and tooling. This role requires strong analytical and statistical expertise, experience in A/B testing, proficiency in SQL and Python or R, and excellent communication skills.

Data Scientist – Candy Crush Soda Saga

Are you excited about using data to shape the future of Candy Crush Soda and drive even better experiences for millions of players? Do you have a passion for pricing, feature optimization, and uncovering new monetization opportunities? Join our Monetisation & Economy team and help us make an impact at scale!

Your role within the Kingdom

As a Data Scientist in the Candy Crush Soda Saga team, you will develop new monetization features, optimize existing ones, and discover opportunities to enhance player engagement and revenue. You'll partner with product and other stakeholders to leverage data in creative ways, influencing key decisions that shape the future of the game.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, Test, and Measure: Develop new monetization features and work closely with product teams to design and execute A/B tests that measure the impact of feature changes or pricing strategies. Ensure correct data collection for meaningful and precise analysis.
  • Optimize Existing Features: Use data analysis and modeling to optimize existing monetization features, identifying opportunities for improvements based on player behavior and testing results.
  • Discover Opportunities: Leverage data to uncover new opportunities for growth and feature optimization, using experimentation, modeling, and deep-dive analysis to guide product decisions.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements, ensuring that data is tracked and analyzed effectively for decision-making. Ensure data-driven initiatives are clearly connected to business value and strategic objectives.
  • Methodology & Tooling: Contribute to the evolution of methodologies and tooling to improve the capabilities of the broader data science community at King.

Skills to create thrills

  • Analytical & Statistical Expertise: Strong ability to choose and adapt models based on the task at hand. Strong statistical and probabilistic intuition, with the capacity to identify when simple or complex solutions are appropriate. Experience in fields such as behavioral psychology, economics, or experimental design is a plus.
  • A/B Testing: Expertise in designing and interpreting A/B tests to measure product changes and assess player response.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python or R is essential. Experience with tools like Looker, Shiny, Streamlit, GitHub, Docker and cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure are strong bonuses.
  • Communication & Business Impact: Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain data insights in actionable ways. Capable of connecting data science outcomes to business objectives, showing how initiatives impact revenue and player engagement.
  • Experience in the gaming industry is a plus, but not required.
