Job Description

The Director of Product Marketing for Commerce Media will be responsible for evolving Moloco’s product positioning, articulating a platform vision, developing memorable product strategies, owning audience targeting and market segmentation, and enhancing sales enablement and customer education. This role involves mapping customer and product insights to drive business outcomes, creating compelling product narratives, and building targeted playbooks to improve sales effectiveness. The ideal candidate will be a strong strategist, deeply knowledgeable about the retail media and commerce media ecosystem, and able to differentiate Moloco’s identity. Responsibilities include developing industry and customer expertise, supporting product prioritization and adoption, and evangelizing the product to drive market differentiation and adoption.
Must have:
  • 8+ years of Product Marketing experience in Enterprise products.
  • Proven track record establishing go-to-market processes.
  • Excellent management and coaching skills.
  • Serious communication and storytelling skills.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Director of Product Marketing to evolve Moloco’s positioning, help articulate a platform vision, architect truly memorable moments from the product strategy, own audience targeting and market segmentation, and bring sales enablement and customer education to the next level for Moloco’s Commerce Media product. Success comes in three core areas:

  • Map customer and product insights to the revenue funnel to drive business outcomes
  • Create thematic product narratives that are differentiated, relevant, and compelling
  • Build targeted playbooks that improve sales effectiveness and efficiency

The best candidate is a strong strategist who knows how to develop, test, and iterate on a point of view. You love digging into markets and always ask who and why before what and how. You know how to appeal to discerning and vocal audiences, as well as stand out in a crowd. You'll work closely with the Product, Business, Executive, and Marketing teams, in addition to continuing to build and manage the Product Marketing function for Moloco Commerce Media.

Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise and intelligence around the industry and customer:
    • Develop expertise in the retail media and commerce media ecosystem, including product needs, retail media technology stacks, and customers
    • Understand what defines customer segments, who their stakeholders are, where they find value, and what compels their decisions
    • Know onsite advertising competitors and strengths/weaknesses
  • Develop narrative and positioning. In partnership with Product and Business Development, differentiate Moloco’s identity, romance features and products, and ensure they are communicated with user benefits in mind
  • Support product prioritization. Work with the product team as a thought partner, bring market insights, competitive landscape, our product strengths and weaknesses seen with customers or industry analysts that can be used to help us inform a more compelling product roadmap and strategy.
  • Support product adoption and scaling
    • Partner with BD to engage prospects to (i) understand their problems/needs (ii) help position our products the right way to them
    • Support Moloco’s existing customer teams to support feature adoption
    • Partner within the marketing team to develop digital campaigns, content and event executions
  • Evangelize the product.  Be an advocate for the leading product in the market, drive Moloco’s differentiation as a category authority in onsite monetization, and relentlessly support its scale up and adoption as the product grows in footprint and features.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Product Marketing experience in Enterprise products, with at least 3 years managing teams
  • Proven, incontrovertible track record establishing go-to-market processes and orchestrating feature and product launches
  • Analytical rigor, both proposing marketing objectives and measuring results
  • Excellent management and coaching skills, emphasizing outcomes-oriented enablement and cross-functional integration 
  • Serious communication and storytelling chops: past writing and slide decks required
  • Ability to explain both complex technical concepts in a simple, linear, and holistic way and complex business value concepts in a way an engineer would understand
  • Equal enthusiasm for and capability in research, strategy, execution, and measurement
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • Bonus points: experience in the commerce and retail media space
  • Bonus points: past work in a fast-paced startup environment
