Key Accountabilities:
General
Responsible for all electrical related technical solution engineering for major Data Center Projects in APAC.
Develop and manage complete scope from initiation to onsite delivery of electrical systems related to the diesel genset enclosure.
Tendering Matters
Work closely with sales to define the technical scope (electrical and automation).
Review/clarify customer’s specifications & tender documents.
Review and finalize the C/D/E document.
Provide the technical specifications and define the scope of supply for the equipment.
Coordinate with factory and local suppliers to harmonize the scope of supply.
Work with suppliers/contractors to quote for the equipment and obtain proposals timely.
Solution Engineering Matters
Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Define the electrical systems requirements for the walk in genset enclosures suitable for the project needs.
Provide the electrical/automation design and prepares the drawings and documents for the customer’s
technical requirements.
Calculate, verify, and select the right equipment/suppliers.
Uses the computerized engineering tools/database, technical library information and factory standards for the
solution engineering work.
Assist in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues related to power generation and distribution.
Provide and maintain the product and solution engineering information.
Prepare and carry out technical presentations and training.
Order Execution
Verify and confirm the shop drawings, electrical schematic, datasheets, and similar technical documents to
ensure customer specification compliance.
Finalize equipment scope and specifications. Collaborate with internal departments to procure the equipment.
Raise the purchase requisitions for the scope of supply.
Support the execution team to resolve technical issue related to the electrical and automation systems during
project execution, from packaging to site related.
Participate in design review and lessons learnt sessions. Proactively provide valuable insights and recommendation to enhance system performance and efficiency.
Other Matters
Update oneself with the technical developments of the market and internal products.
Travel overseas on business, when required.
Special assignment from time to time.
Requirements:
University / college studies in Electrical engineering.
Proven experience in the diesel engine/generator industry, min. 5 years with track record of successfully delivered
projects and solutions.
Solid understanding of automation system, electrical system, protection system of a diesel generator set and
demonstrate the ability to integrate the understanding into designing a genset enclosure.
Knowledge of engineering calculation for genset electrical systems, for e.g., load & short circuit sizing.
Demonstrating the ability to conceptualize and execute complex electrical system designs and bring cost benefit to
the customer.
Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
Knowledge of data centers, switchgear and electrical power protection would be an added advantage.
Understanding of Asian cultures and business practices.
Excellent team player with an open mindset, collaborative spirit, and exceptional communication skills, capable of
effectively engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
Willingness to travel for onsite jobs when needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet project
requirements and deadlines effectively.
Proactive and positive attitude.
Proficient in 2D/3D CAD and electrical CAD software.
Proficient in reading electrical schematic.
Proficient in English language.
