Job Description

The Electrical Validation Engineer will be responsible for defining electrical validation strategies for IO interfaces. They will validate circuit analog performance, ensure signal integrity compliance, and conduct research in the design and development of IO and mixed signal architectures. This role involves developing validation procedures, analyzing customer returns, and identifying and resolving electrical issues. The engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and develop scripting and automation tools. The ideal candidate should possess strong teamwork and advanced English communication skills.
Must have:

Job Description: 

On this position the successful candidate will be responsible, but not limited to:

  • Defines electrical validation strategy for IO interfaces to achieve optimized analog performance and meet product production goals.
  • Validates circuit analog performance, electrical signal integrity compliance to industry standard specifications, and system level margin for stable operation and production target prediction.
  • Conducts and participates in multidisciplinary research in the design, development, testing, validation, and utilization of IO and mixed signal architectures inclusive of industry standard datacom applications, custom Intel interfaces, and RF systems implementations.
  • Develops procedures, analysis, and designs for validation, validation infrastructure, and systems margin validation.
  • Analyzes internal and external customer returns with emphasis on improving yields and driving test escape closure.
  • Applies and uses independent evaluation to select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, performance, and reliability.
  • Performs debug to identify root causes and resolves all functional and triage failures for electrical issues.
  • Tests interactions between various electrical design features using validation infrastructure.
  • Applies understanding of DFT and DFM to collaborate with architecture, design, and pre-silicon validation teams to validate and test IO architecture implementations.
  • Prepares validation specifications, evaluates IP, and generates test reports. Ensures products conform to standards and specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans for electrical validation of interfaces, aligning with various program milestones from PO Readiness to PRQ.
  • Engage in pre-Silicon activities, including shift left activities such as test chips (if available), simulation results, previous program data, and get involved in Tape-in decisions.
  • Provide support for electrical issues identified by customers (Design, KIT, other validation teams, and PAE).
  • Develop and test scripting and automation tools for margin testing and signal integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful validation outcomes.

Qualifications:

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.


Minimum qualifications, you must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in scripting languages for test automation and content development, ideally in Python.

  • 1+ years of experience in platform validation, debugging, and test content development, with a focus on server reset functionalities.

  • 1+ years of experience working with server architectures, hardware components, and operating systems.

  • Advanced English level.

Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Mexico (the position is in Mexico; it is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship).

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates:

  • 1+ years of experience with validation, debugging, and test content development tools and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to server reset, platform validation, debugging, and test content development.

Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.
